Scroll back.

If you are referring to Cain worrying about people wanting to slay him, you must consider that God had just gotten finished telling him that he would be a fugitive and a vagabond. Cain expected to live a very long time, so he knew that people would soon exist that might want to kill him for what he had done. He was concerned because God had just told him that he would be a fugitive. You can’t jump to the conclusion that other men and women must have already existed in abundance, but Cain knew that other men and women would soon exist. Many came to exist who were his children, grand children, great and great great grand children. They in turn would have had children. I could not find how long Cain lived but many people at that time lived hundreds of years. Cain could have established a city through his own family, and could have lived to see hundreds of his own descendants before he died. He also knew that there would be a possibility of eventually running into those who would not be of his own descendants.

I have a feeling that population grew pretty quick. Most all lived hundreds of years so even if Cain was 20 years old when he killed Abel, he was worried about what would happen to him later if not in the present. It did not say that Cain found his wife in Nod, but rather that he knew her and they had a child. To read anything more into this is jumping the gun and drawing conclusions without facts. Again, tell me where the obvious contradiction exists.
