I can see your point T S C. I guess I've just never noticed the light or been distracted by it.When I've had to text, I thought I was being considerate by texting (I only do it on a emergency basis anyway). I'd never talk to anyone on the cell in a movie....or if it happens to ring in a restaurant, I go outside to answer it.....

The sound isn't the only issue. Also there is the fact that your screen lights up like a little flashlight. That is very distracting to other people in the theater. If you can text with your phone on silent and with your screen light off, then go right ahead.
