I view grocery stores like I do supply houses, no single one can provide all my needs. I go to all of them and look around from time to time. The closest for me is big star in Lexington, they provide the most bsic items. I find myself a lot in the foodland in killen, all the foodland stores are pretty good. When I am planning to barbeque, I will go to every store I pass to look at and get the meat I think will best serve my need. It used to be that stores would put a sale on certain items and expect patrons to buy other things that was priced high to make up the difference, that didn't work because people would go to another store to get it cheaper, I think this is why jitney jungle and kroger left the area . If you look now most stores will have the same items advertised at about the same price now. I do go to walmart for certain items but I stay away from their great value items because of their agresive tactics to have the lower price. I have been to Publix in Hampton Cove and Madison and they are a resorcefull place. I was hoping that when Winn Dixie left, they would come here, but it did not happen. Winn Dixie was one of my favorite's to, I think they left for the same reason kroger did.
