Not too sure why this seemed to hit a nerve, but the relative I was refurring to was born in 1748 in New Jersey. Served in the revolutionary war at Yorktown. Moved to North Ala. around 1810. (yes I know the Revolutionary war ended in 1783- I admit I took a little liberty, but didn't have my "papers" at the time).
He died in Feb 1839 in North Ala and is buried here. The origional headstone was vandalized some years ago.
Periodically there is "decoration " at the grave and maintenance of the cemetary. If you are interested in helping, PM me and I'll hook you up.
