You easily rule out the fact that it may just have been a collusion.

I will post a link to energy usage table below. Look at what crude oil volume was in 2000 when Bush came into office. Crude oile and gasoline at the pump more than doubled in price. If it is supply and demand as you suggest, shouldn't this table support that?

Now look at the usage for 2006 ( as recent as this table goes), where is the doubling of demand?
