I agree with you and you bring up an interesting point that I think everybody should take heed to. The conservative party first made it's move in 1968 with Nixon but because of Watergate, the right wing had to hold off until Reagan. If you will research your history, it was Jerry Farwell and Senator Helms who went to Nixon and said hey, want to win the south, to the republican party? And of course, Nixon said, yes, how do we do that? Jerry Farwell's answer was, religion. And Nixon says, religion? So they explained how religion in the Bible belt worked in the south and they have used religion starting with Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43. And it has divided the country because some people want religion in politics and other's don't want religion in politics. Isn't it funny that liberal is mentioned in the Bible and conservative is not? For example, liberal means, according to the Bible, a man who is not liberal is without wisdom. It is man that has made liberal a bad word, not God. Gays, I do not support gays. It's against God's laws. But, you have conservative gays as well as liberal gays. It all boils down to education, propaganda, the lies that we would like to believe. What does the Baptist call the Church of Christ and what does the Church of Christ call the Baptist? The right wing has divided the United States with their hate, bigotry, and they don't realize they are calling theirselves Christians but at the same time they are spreading hate. It's the churches job to win souls, not the governments job. I believe in morals and values but if we want to really be trying to make laws against this and that, why stop at gays? How about doing something about beer and cigarettes, gambling places? Put the ten commandments in our front yards, on top of our house. Do you see my point on all of this? When somebody asks me if I'm conservative or liberal, I say that would depend on the issue. For an example, I would be conservative when it comes to gays. I would be liberal when it comes to veterans benefits for our troops.
