"Spelling on the forums, a moot point!"

I would politely disagree. Spelling is important for accurate communication, as is the grammatical quality of a post. We can communicate more easily without an emphasis on grammar when we are face-to-face; then we rely on body language, gestures, and facial expressions. Granted, spelling and grammar on the forums don't have to be perfect for a reader to understand the meaning. The problem happens when there are so many errors that they slow the reader down to the point that understanding the writer becomes arduous and the meaning and intent of the post is difficult to interpret. We all WANT to know what people are communicating, and there have been posts followed by "What?" for this very reason.

That said, I entirely agreed with his post.

And no, I guess "he don't have to."
