This is just on this side of Chattanooga, TN....They actually run the generators in reverse to use them as a pump to move water from the Tenn. River to a man made resevoir on top of the mountain..Then they run the water from the resevoir through the turbines to produce electricity. I should add they only pump when the electric rates are cheap and they generate when the rates are high.
