Reply to "Union Leaders Apologize For Extortion."

Labor unions are workers who organized to present one massed voice to management concerning pay, benefits, and working conditions. Those who oppose unions think employment should be a one-sided deal in favor of the employer.

"But he signs the paycheck," you say. "Who is doing the work to make him money?" I say.

If all the employees disappeared, as in a strike, don't you think it would show him who is making his money for him? Shouldn't workers have a say in how the pie they baked for him is divided?

Those who oppose unions are making it easier to keep workers in poverty. That is the reason they were asking for community support. Workers support those businesses by spending their paychecks in those establishments. Higher union wages mean higher amounts spent in those stores. And the store owners are afraid some anti-union bigot will cause a stink?

Scott Walker and the other Republican governors and their legislative cohorts, are intent on destroying the livelihood and prosperity of their own citizens. They have declared political war on their public employees. They are economic terrorists.

I don't know why people, especially employers who own businesses with employees, don't like unions. Don't they have a union of their own? Yes, they do. It's called the Chamber of Commerce. Look up that outfit and see how underhanded they are in their assault on workers' rights. Just for kicks, I'll give you the first one:
