Virginia teachers to be fired for criticizing equity training if advisory committee gets its way

Typical dem messed up logic...they don't want teachers that refuse to do their job fired...but want to fire teachers that won't teach their screwy...harmful...racist...vengeful curriculum. Liberals are dangerous and intent on indoctrinating children.

If the progressive left have taught us anything it’s that dissent is simply not tolerated, particularly when it comes to diversity. The problem with so-called equity training is that it’s often inspired by critical race theory — a toxic scheme that claims racism is inherent in American society.

Virginia teachers in Loudoun County Public Schools may very well face dismissal if they dare criticize equity training efforts, if Keaira Jennings, who leads the district’s Minority Student Achievement Advisory Committee, has her way. Even if they do so in private.

The district is located in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, with more than 80,000 students in 90 schools.

According to the district’s website, the MSAAC was formed to “promote the needs of minority students” and is “dedicated to building a school system that’s culturally and socially competent and positioned to provide fair and equitable learning experiences for all students.”

Jennings suggested in an email to the school district’s superintendent, school board chair, equity committee, and the NAACP, that they “cannot” tolerate teachers who are not onboard with their agenda, The Daily Wire reported.

“I was disheartened to see so much hate and vitriol centered around something that is meant to bring about inclusiveness and equity!” Jennings purportedly wrote. “While much of the push back came from parents and other community members, from what I understand there was also a great deal of negative feedback from LCPS teachers. That simply cannot and should not be tolerated by anyone employed by LCPS!”

“If our teachers and staff cannot be open and willing to learn how to be culturally competent then they do not need to be in the classrooms any longer as they will only hinder the process and most importantly cause irreparable harm to the vulnerable hearts and minds of our students,” Jennings continued, according to the Daily Wire.

MSAAC had previously vowed to “silence the opposition” in a tweet that has since been deleted, according to the conservative news site.

“There is strength in numbers and we believe wholeheartedly, that united, we can and will silence the opposition,” the tweet reportedly read. “We ask that you please support our call to action by engaging in these 5 small, but impactful actions to help us in our mission of Advancing Equity Through Action!”

There was an attempt last year to hide a speech code inside a “professional conduct” policy proposal that would ban teachers from criticizing the district’s “commitment to action-oriented equity practices” in all forms of public and personal communication, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

“Employees are expected to support the school division’s commitment to action-oriented equity practices through the performance of their job duties, as the Division engages in the disruption and dismantling of white supremacy, systemic racism, and language and actions motivated by race, religion, country of origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, and/or ability,” the policy draft read.

The policy would be revised after the Loudoun Education Association teachers union objected.

To get a feel for what students are subjected to in Loudoun County Public Schools, the following video captured a high school teacher being critical of a student for referring to two people in a photo as “two people,” without recognizing their racial differences.

“I’m confused,” the student said. “Are you trying to get me to say that there are two different races in this picture?”

“Yes, I am asking you to say that,” the teacher replied.

“Well, at the end of the day wouldn’t that just be feeding into the problem of looking at race instead of just acknowledging them as two normal people?” the student then replied.

There was a report earlier this month of a private Facebook group of Loudoun County teachers, parents and others allegedly compiling a list of parents who oppose “critical race theory” and progressive, raced-based classroom programs, according to Fox News. Called the

“Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County,” group members were “accused of compiling a list of outspoken conservatives in order to track, hack and ‘doxx’ them – or even intimidate them into self-censorship,” the network reported.
