And so the system the Republican Patriots (which is, naturally, the only Real Kind of Patriot) have been bravely administering for the last 8 years... the one with a deficit "from years past" PLUS racking up record current-year deficits every year... that's better, right? Because the liberal media's got me all confused, now. Rasafrackin' dimocrats.

When Bush was appointed president in 2000 oil was around $20 a barrel but the economy was in recession because of the collapse of the Dot Com Bubble which had artificially drove the economy. Because of Bush's war in Iraq, his threatening Iran and the instability in the region plus an increase in world wide demand the price has risen to $100 dollars a barrel today with predictions of it possibly rising as high as $4.00 a gallon by the summer. I made a mistake in my previous post. The jobs that were lost under Clinton due to "outsourcing" were Not replaced with jobs equal in pay. Yes, the Dot Com bubble burst in 2000 but Clinton also inherited a recession and a debt from the Reagan Bush Sr years. It's the policies they chose to address the problems that matter. I saw the Dot Com crash effect my business and I have friends who were buying things like crazy and bragging about how much money they were making in the market. When it...

Yes, we had prosperity because Clinton did not do anything that was not popular in the polls, never tried to take on any foreign influence and always wanted to be the most liked President. The dot com boom helped to make us prosper, then it broke while he was leaving and Bush got the remains. Clinton was simply a pawn in the economic rise, he had little to do with it. He's still a wuss.

When I proved it, rather than retract your statement, you blamed the revenue contraction on something else. You seem willing to blame one bubble (dot-com) for declining revenue, but not willing to credit another bubble (housing) with increased revenue. You can't have it both ways. Your business boomed because the baby boomer's hit their peak spending years, interest rates were low, and yes historically speaking taxes were still low. I really can't believe that you are naive enough to think that a $10 trillion economy stopped and turned on a dime based on who was elected president. Every business did well in the 90's because as I said the baby boomers hit their peak spending years, interest rates were low, and taxes were low. All of those contributed to a favorable environment for businesses. And you did not answer my question. Was Clinton to blame for the dot com bubble and the ensuing recession?

I know that it is hard for you to believe that tax policy matters when it comes to the economy. How old were you in 1992 when Clinton was elected? In Early 1993, in the first 100 days of Clinton's administration he passed an 40 billion dollar economic stimulus package. Included in that pachage was tax increase on the rich from 35% to 39.5%. We had the best economy in my adult life and balanced the budget. It was the Clinton administration that deregulated the telecommunications companies...
