Seems, if we listen to the news media and their polls, that having a Democratic President is a forgone conclusion. Then we can all look forward to the changes that having a ruling party in the White House and the Congress will bring.

Or can we? The Republicans had their way and look where that got us, nothing but a war and fiscal morass.

Seems to me that they are all cut from the same pattern, party affiliation means just some more of the same old.

Democrats rule the Congress, count the changes they have made. Is your life better than it was before?

You can tell when a politician is lying, they are smiling and their lips are moving.

God Bless America, we are going to need it.
Just an old codger irritating other old codgers.

Foregone conclusion? I can't agree with that. The petty bickering between the Obama faction and the Clinton followers has sickened many dems to the point that they intend to vote for McCain just to spite the democrat candidates.

And democrats don't exactly rule congress. There are enough Republican congressmen to shoot down most of the bills that require a majority vote, such as they have proven lately with Presidential vetos.

It will be interesting.
It does not matter what the combination is, in general, the government will disappoint most people. From 2000 - 2006, we had a Repbulican president and congress. However, most folk did not like the outcome of those days. In the past, we've had democratic presidents with democratic congresses. Most folk did not like those days either.

We've seen what the current combination has done - little to nothing. Today's society is way more cynical than previous ones. So whatever happens, we will all be critics of it. Can't say I would want to be a politician in today's world.
