Harry Reid is changing the rules back to where they were in 1957. If you want to filibuster a bill in the Senate, you gotta stand and actually talk, and go on record. No more hiding from the American people.

Yeah I think once they understand they have to actually go on record and say out loud that they don't want to pass a bill that would grow the economy or help the American people because it would hurt their special interest, we will start to see a bit of change. Hopefully this will keep our Senate working for us and not their own agendas.

Hahaha! Jank!

I'll bet you often

"Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes".

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain,
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies.
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.

Newspaper taxis appear on the s****,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you're gone.

You poor simpleton

Republicans wanted to change that rule when Bill Frist was Majority leader in the Senate, however the Dems used the filibuster a few times to block specific things. McConald has used it to completely shut down the Senate. There is a difference. These people were not put up there to do nothing.

Now, if people like Sessons wants to protect Blackwater for protecting rapist, he'll have to stand on the floor of the Senate with cameras rolling, explaining how it is a good thing for women to be raped and the rapist get away with it. (or at least read the phone book - I don't think they have a Sears and Robuck catalog  any more)

Normally I would be opposed to changing this, but it is important that work get done in the legislative branch , and blocking EVERYTHING in order to stick their finger in the president's eye is not getting the peoples work done.
