I recently flew from Huntsville to Virginia to visit my brother. I had to pay 50 for the airline to check one bag (25 going and 25 returning). When I arrived at the hotel in Virginia I discovered that I had a new tube of lotion and a shirt missing. Since you are no longer allowed to lock your bag they have free range to your stuff. I think it's a crying shame that you pay an airline 300-400 for the ticket, 50 to check your bag and then have your stuff stolen or lost.

I've flown out of Muscle Shoals the last few times and really like it. Parking is chah-eap, but since it's practically in my backyard, I just have someone drop me off & pick me up. That, along with less gas money involved, means no price difference in comparison to flying from Huntsville, Nashville or Birmingham. I also love being home when I land also...no long drive after the flight(s).

I try to fit all I need in a carry-on whenever possible, stopping at a Walmart upon arrival to get toiletries. I roll my clothes, which makes them less wrinkled, and choose clothes that travel well & don't take up much room.
