ouch,,, yet the union continually ask for raises for teachers.   Good thing for them they aren't on a performance pay program.

My suggestion is fire the union.   maybe go out of state to hire teachers,, fire pert neer every administration official.

You'll never attract quality teachers with a junk pay scale. Republicans will never figure that out.

You know when we lived in your part of Alabama and my daughter went to Iuka schools, it was not a teacher problem in elementary school.  Most of the teachers wanted to do good but they were overwhelmed by kids whose parents took no interest in their kids schooling, except for sports!  The kids did not have parents who ensured they did their homework and understood it.  In middle school a teacher assigned my daughter to sit in quad seating with the three biggest problem children in the class.  My daughter who was a honor student already in MENSA came home heartbroken.  We tried to talk to the teacher but she was no help and neither was the principal .  A very kind person who was a teachers aid called us and told us the whole story.  The principal and the teacher decided my daughter was so far ahead of the rest of the class that she was going to help “teach” the boys she was assigned to set with.  The next week we left Iuka and enrolled my daughter in private school in Memphis.  Later when we were getting our house ready to sell and eating out in Iuka the teacher had the gaul to come up to us and say “I cannot believe you left me with those kids”!   I was always amazed at the parents who would throw a ball all day to a kid but would not spend one minute on school work.

I don't know, maybe demand the republican controlled legislature and governor improve things... like making sure every school is adequately funded and teacher's salaries are raised. No let's just blame the liberals/dems and unions.  That'll fix it... can't hold the rebubs accountable for anything...
