Well, we don't have an NFL team, but we do have a pro AAFL team. It's called Alabama.

What about the Bama Bears in honer of Bear Bryant being the Best Football Coach in the State of Alabama.
That's a good one Roll. Because the bear is also Alabama's state animal. (Not that I've ever seen one down here....)

(forget the fact that Chicago already uses the name) Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa tried to use Bears and the Bryant family would not allow it. Plus it doesn't have a ring to it. As for the aafl, if it ever takes off they are going to have to do a better job with logos, names, etc., if they want to be successful in the marketing side of it. I would be ok with no mascot, but the logos they are using look like a cheap shirt you find at a gas station souvenir shop at the beach.

I'm with Nash on this one. The Alabama Bombers sounds like a great name with a great bit of history behind it.

I like Bombers too (nice pick NashBama), especially if based in Birmingham. Birmingham Bombers.
Yellowhammers could be the MLB team in Alabama, but would probably have to be based somewhere like Mobile.
It would be cool to have a pro team, but depending on the city that it's based, I'm not sure we'd go....meaning too far below Bham.

What about the original name of the alabama football team "Thin Red line". Or the "Crimson White" and the mascot be a white tigers to bring a little of Alabama and Auburn Together.
Our state bird is the yellow hammer rite? So lets go with the Alabama Hammerheads, and have a crimson and orange hammer head shark(i know a yellowhammer is a bird) as a mascot. But i like the ideas that yall think of!!! Keep em coming.
I don't know about the team logo but the motto should be "we're on borrowed time."
Sooo why would you say something like that, sounds a little defeatest to me. We are a very very strong state and I refuse to stand down to the opposition and negativity around all of us. We need a moto thats upstanding and brave and dominating. Like, Dominate and Destroy All Opposition!!!!
