Does anybody else have problems with At&t calling several times a day about internet upgrade? I was told they were putting me on their do not call list over a month ago with a two week period for it to go into effect but they continue harassing me by calling sometimes 3 or 4 times a day.

To correct the URL in Raven's message above, it is: Link (one "n" instead of two).

Also, if you have AT&T home phone service or cell service then you are in a "prior business relationship" with them, and they are not covered by the Do Not Call list. You will need to submit your request to them in writing and then, if they still call, you will need to threaten them with an FTC complaint and mention that it was given in writing. That's about all you can do, unless you change home or cell phone service provider and break the relationship.

Details on the Do Not Call Registry are here: Link

I suspect the people that are calling you have Pakistani accents over a staticy connection? If so, they are not AT&T. They are a scam. You will never get on their "do not call" list because they don't abide by those rules.

Keep an eye on your phone bill. Even though I always tell these people "no" I still got "slammed" and got signed up for some service to the tune of 37.00 per month this past December.

AT&T can put a "lock" on your account so that no one can slam you like this. I suggest you call a real, American AT&T person and sign up for that free "lock" feature.

I have considered filing a complaint with the attorney general but don't know if that's the best way to attack it or not.

It will give you a good laugh before you hang up the phone.

We are collecting for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life right now.
I did call AT&T and have a lock put on my number for the second time.I am also going to buy a whistle today.

It is the real at&t... of that I am sure.I have a 3 year contract with at&t so I'm stuck for 2 more years.I switched so I could have high speed that Access did not have available.I wish I had kept my netscape and my access.

Is netscape and access fast access internet? I have att and they charge me twice and much as they told me they would and its not that fast either. They promised me big rebates that I didn't get then charge me rent for equipment that I've already paid for. I want to switch but don't want to go thru the same thing all over again.

Access Integrated Networks,Inc -phone service
Netscape is an Internet provider. I used both companies for nearly 3 years and never saw a rate increase. I would caution you to be careful about switching companies if you are under contract.I had to buy out my contract with ACCESS when I switched to AT&T.
