Hi Vic,

What church do you have in mind -- the Roman Catholic, Buddhist, Unitarian Universalist, Wiccan, etc.?  True, one does not have to be a Christian to attend any of these churches?   But, of course, anyone can attend any of these, and others.  Yet, if one really wants to find Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior -- his/her best bet will be a good evangelical, conservative Christian church.

But, my Friend, you just keep on keeping on -- and may God bless you.

Side note:  it sure is pleasant to know that Seven and Chick will just ignore this post and not jump in as usual; for they promised:

Seven:  Semi, you should have known Bill would know more about posting polls than any of us

Chick:  That's true, be best if we ignore him. We can still have our discussions, just talk around him as though he's not there.

Praise God for small blessings!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

No, Actually I did NOT promise to never reply to another thread that you'd replied to BILL. What I agreed to was to never respond to any of your threads(threads that you yourself created). Please don't twist my words to suit your snarky little insults. You just flat out lied right here. If you would like me to find the thread and post what we agreed to here I will gladly do so.

PS> If I never responded to any threads that you reply to then I'd have to never reply to anything in the religious forum ever again because you being the person your are are always into everyone else's threads on here because you have to be the center of attention at all times or your not happy.

It's a done deal. Sounds great to me.

But I've got a final message for you too Bill. This religion forum IS NOT your forum and you DO NOT rule it and your voice IS NOT the only one that matters. Your opinions and viewpoints ARE NOT the final word on all things spiritual in the world and you DO NOT know everything about everything. You might believe otherwise but you are wrong.

Which was in response to this post from you Bill:

You're right on all counts Seven, we should try it.

Hi Seven and Vic,

Why do you make such a wonderful promise -- when you know you have no intention of keeping it?

Both of you, PLEASE DO -- insult me by ignoring ALL of my posts.   Then, I can have dialogues with those who actually want to discuss and hear the Word of God.

If you have no desire to discuss the Word of God -- then, PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay 100 feet away from all of Bill Gray's post.  For, my Friends, you have my promise that all I will be discussing will be the Word of God and His promises of eternal life to ALL who, by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ -- believe His Word and turn to follow Him.

So, can I take you at your word that this is Adios and Goodbye?   Praise God for small favors!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Why do people always need to go to YOUR thread BILL to discuss what they are already discussing here? Must you always be the center of attention?

PS> I am not responding to your topics anymore as per our agreement the other day Bill and never will again but since you insist on taking over every discussion on here I had to say something. Anyways this is semi's thread not yours.

Hi Seven,

Nice to hear from you again -- so soon!  So, this discussion is Chick's PROPRIETARY property and no one else has a right to post here?  Wow.  That is interesting!  I had no idea that the TimesDaily granted such exclusive honors.

See how we can all learn something new everyday?  Thank you, my Friend, for this timely heads-up.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

I didn't figure you would own up to it but there it is for all to see. Instead of an apology or acknowledgement of the lie you told on me I get a smartass reply and a cartoon?

Whatever Bill. I see very clearly now that you've done it to me what semi and o no and many others have been saying for months now on here about you taking peoples words and twisting them to suit your agenda. Sad is the only word that comes to mind right now for you.

Care to show me where I said that or will you just post another smart ass reply with a cartoon?

I started to post a poll:  Is Bill a Tool?  Yes or No?

But I already know the results, and then Bill would come on and tell me a better poll would have been Is Bill a Christian and a Tool?  And then he would post some irrelevant drivel about why he thinks this question is better, followed with what Bill believes to be an effective putdown, and ending with a snarky cartoon.

So I decided not to.

Hi Seven,

As usual, you have lost me.  I have trouble following the logic of non-believers.  So, maybe you can tell me more about what made you so angry.

Is it because I tell you that you need Jesus Christ in your life?  Or, that I tell you that it is very dangerous to leave this life without Him?   Just curious, which of my sharings have you upset?

 Bill,

I'm afraid your over the top on this one.

Bill it is people like YOU who make religion such an ugly prospect for so many including myself. It's the reason to this day that the word actually makes me nauseous. YOU are what is wrong with religion and you seem to be so proud of it too.

Here we have a forum where it should be possible to talk about the possibility of god or even spiritual things or even ask questions and socialize and be friendly about it and learn stuff together but YOU are such a religious bully that you must always be in the middle of every discussion with your smart ass remarks and snarky cartoons and your constant belittlement of anyone who doesn't see things or believe like you do.

If YOU sir are what represents Christianity in the world today then I want to run as far and as fast as I can away from it. It makes me realize and just confirms what I've already known for so many years now.

For the record Bill, yours is not a better question.  This being the religion forum, and not the Christian forum, Semi's question could be answered by anyone of any faith, and is far more appropriate.

Have another blissed day, Bill.

Hi Extra,

Not sure I follow you.  Are you referring to Seven's post which told me, "Anyways this is semi's thread not yours."

It seems to me that he/she is declaring this to be a proprietary discussion.  If I am wrong, I will appreciate your help in understanding what Seven truly meant.

Or, maybe you had something else in mind when you say I am "over the top on this one."  If so, please help me out and explain.

So, out of everything I've posted in this thread and all the questions I have asked you to address and explain you pick that partial sentence out and try and use it against me?

I was trying to explain to you that although I had agreed not to reply to your threads any longer that this is not your thread just in case you tried to twist my words again.

This is unbelievable that you could pretend to be so clueless.

Hi Seven,

It seems to me that you "ran as far and as fast as you can to get away from Christianity" long before you ever met me on the Religion Forum.  If you had ANY desires to know God -- you would not allow me, or anyone, to keep you from seeking and finding Him.   I am just a convenient excuse for now.

Not to worry, I used such excuses before I finally stopped running -- and became a Christian believer.  Matter of fact, I ran for fifty years!  God willing, one day, you will also stop running from Him and blaming others for your lifestyle.  But, please do not wait for fifty years like I did -- for none of us knows when the next breath will be our last breath.  And, once you have breathed that last breath -- there are no more "do overs."  At that point, your eternal fate is set in concrete.

So, a wise person would get right with God today, right now -- before that next breath is your last breath.

By the way, you tell me, "Bill it is people like YOU who make religion such an ugly prospect for so many including myself."

Personally, I do pray that I make all RELIGIONS ugly to you -- for religions are what keep people from finding Christianity.  And, only through Christ and the Christian faith -- will you ever find eternal life, eternal salvation in Christ.

Would you like to dialogue more about Religions and Christianity?  I will be happy to join you in that discussion.  And, I know that many other Christian believers on the Religion Forum will also be happy to chat with you, if you prefer not to chat with me.

One thing I will urge you.   Do not let puny little Bill Gray keep you from knowing, personally, Jesus Christ.  Do not allow me to be your excuse to deny Christ.  It isn't worth it!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

We Is Friends

I'm through wasting my day trying to get you acknowledge what you did and anyway I don't know how much more clearer I could possibly be.

Hi Seven,

You seem upset at me.  If I have wronged you in ANY way -- I sincerely apologize.

Now, will you allow What4, Extra, or some of the other Christian believers on the Religion Forum to help you become a Christian believer?  Are you willing to allow them to share Jesus Christ with you -- and are you willing to seriously consider receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?

If so, I praise God.  If not, then, isn't that proof that I was only a convenient excuse?   Something to think about.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I never came here looking to get saved Bill. I never came here wanting you to pray for me. I never came here needing anything from you. You are not the center of the universe. I have NO DESIRE to become a christian believer either. Not sure where you got that from. I've never given anyone on here any indication of anything like that. I have no interest in religion and never will. I don't know if there is a god and that's just fine with me. I don't have this overbearing need to know whether there is or there isn't. I don't care anything about becoming a believer either. If I post in the food section of the forum does that mean I want to be a professional chef? LOL

You need to get over yourself. You're so full of it your eyes must be brown.

And, I asked:  Does this ring a bell, "Anyways this is semi's thread not yours."

How and where did I take a "partial sentence" from your post and misrepresent it?  That most certainly seems like a complete sentence and a complete thought to me.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

A person who is not a believer will always answer no, or reply, "Only for weddings and funerals."

--------------------------------

How do you know how they will reply? Weddings and funerals only? There are plenty of programs and things that go on that they might attend. The last wedding I attended was in a garden, not a church, and I don't know the last time I attended a funeral held in a church.

Hi Dottie,

You are right.  Most all religions have a place of worship.  And, most, such as in Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, etc., do call theirs a temple.   But, even in Christianity, it is a misnomer to call our place of worship a church.  For, as you know, in the Christian faith it is the worldwide body of believers which is called the "church."   That is why, even though a local church is called a church -- I prefer to call it a local fellowship.

However, when I read Chick's poll question -- I assumed she was speaking of Christians.  Maybe I was wrong, but, that was, and is, my assumption.

By the way, welcome to the Religion Forum.   I have not seen you posting here before.  I pray that you will continue to read and post with us.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's the point you completely missed.

i would hope that as Christians we would want lots of people who are NOT Christians to attend our services and hear God's word. So by definition, one does not need to be a Christian to attend Church.

Ex,

If I thought that there was anywhere I could hear God's word, presumptions aside, I'd go there if I had to fight wild horses.

However, any church with which I'm familiar only serves humans' words.  They are strict words derived from an ancient book of fables and poor history, and are not in the least compelling.  Better, I can find words from people who demand that I examine their claims to science and philosophy and either accept them or better them with superior science or philosophy.

We're onto something better these days.  We are at a point where we can suggest, rather than preach, morality, reality, and love, and count on acceptance, rather than coercion, to get the point across.

We strive for many of the same things.  The difference is dogma.  It's not necessary for the good life.
