Let's start a thread in which we suggest Bible stories for kids!

I'll start with Judges 1:19.    To wit: King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

Be sure to read the story in context.  The Judeans had run roughshod over many peoples in their bloodthirsty conquests, sanctioned by the loving God.  But the LORD was not strong enough to defeat chariots of iron.

Go figure.

Think about this," said Jesus: "A man owns a hundred sheep. Every evening, he counts to see that his sheep have come in safely from the hills. But one night, he discovers a little lamb has wandered away and become lost in the dark. Well, do you think that just because this shepherd still has ninety-nine sheep, that he will forget about the one that is missing? No, he goes out into the dark and into the hills, and he searches for his lost lamb.

"The shepherd is overjoyed when he finds his little lamb! He's not thinking about the ninety-nine who are safe and sound. No, he rejoices over this little one that was in danger. And the shepherd carries that lamb upon his shoulders and takes it back to safety. The reason I tell you this story," explained Jesus, "is so you will understand how much your Father in heaven cares about you. He is like that shepherd, and He does not want one single little one to be lost!"

Who is willing to tell their children that god just could not get it right?  First, he created humans with no sense of right/wrong, and then punished them for his oversight.  Not long after, he drowned almost all people and animals because his created people were so flawed.  Then, he confused their language because they became too enlightened.  He had to kill millions of people and suffer man of the survivors with plagues to get his point across when he simply could have written his intent in the stars.

And then, in the end, after a hundred thousand years of torture, he sent himself to be sacrificed to himself as some sort of loophole, in order to absolve people of Original Sin (another of his misakes) but only if they heard of his sacrifice and believed unbelievable stories regarding such.  He's still Fail Maximus.

The god of the Jews is a failure.  He got creation, science, and morality all wrong.  We are better than him.  You are better than him, you are more moral and smarter than him.  It's time you stopped believing that he has all the answers.  He has nothing but barbarism to offer.
