Bro. Bill,

I’m gonna haff to call you down here on an issue.

You are critical of Veplee’s Catholic doctrine and say that it is not Biblical.

At the same time you invent such things as the Rapture without hesitation.

Do you not believe in the same God in which Catholics believe?

If you believe in the same God; at what imaginary point do you believe your interpretations are more pleasing to God than hers?

Surely you do not think there are not any points on which you have a common belief.

I doubt if God the creator is uhtall concerned with the argument.

God has been accused of many rediculous things by man.

Like I have said before: “if the answer to a question precludes anyone asking another question ; you have the truth“.
O man, don't say that, rram! I always have one more question...lol. No, I think I know what you are saying. Do you mean when you've wrestled with something in your mind/heart/soul and it's finally settled?

Bill and I disagreed vehemently in the past. I did not agree with his approach to sharing his beliefs and he did not agree with my approach. I felt he was too hard and he felt I was too soft. We also sometimes disagree on interpretation of scripture, but not anything vital to salvation.

Bill, I think(?) that's a correct summation of our differences, but please feel free to add anything I missed. Smiler

We ARE brother and sister though, regardless of those differences. So, I decided to accept that we are different and move on.

Plus, if we were not all so different, our discussions would not be nearly as interesting.

Y'all do whatever. I'm not telling you what you should do here, just sharing what I decided to do about it.
quote:
And, I have offered to answer her question; but, I do not believe she really wants that -- for, then, she would have nothing to rant about.

Bill, many MANY others have also asked the same question: If the bible is literal and inerrant, then how do you get around the FACT that the bible states unequivocally that adulterers will not enter heaven?

This, of course, means you. This is the same condemnation that the atheist has for denying the Holy Spirit. The bible teaches that is it clearly a one-way trip. You don't undo denial of God or adultery.

So Veep and many others would like you to explain how you have it both ways: The bible is literal and inerrant and clearly condemns adultery yet you are still saved somehow despite being unrepentant.
I did not get along well with my biological sister growing up. We still don't agree on many issues, but she was and is still my sister. Smiler

You may disagree with Bill's interpretation of scripture, but if you are both believers, he is still your brother, whether you like it or not. Although I am sure that Satan has used the misguided behavior of Christians to keep people from God, I don't see how your differences in interpretation make Bill an enemy of your religion.

"We must not fall into the trap of demonizing those with whom we disagree." I found that quote attributed to several, but I do agree with whoever said it.

Also, I would rather not judge Bill because I will be judged with the same measure I use to judge others; and I know how far I fall short of the glory of God.
I will tell you that I do not understand how a Christian does not feel conviction when they speak the truth without love. I would think that even if a Christian interprets scripture to say that their silence is sin that they would feel conviction when they go too far or speak the truth WITHOUT love. I'm not saying such a person is not a Christian...not my place to decided that.
