Bill is getting old, and doesn't have a lot of spare time left to get his house in order and make a bunch of long posts based on his redundant themes and diatribes.  These all fall into about nine or ten categories, and I'm helping Bill out while he learns the new system.

In order to save us all a huge amount of time, I've proposed to Bill that instead of taking all the time to copy and past, and dig up old rants, and generally be his usual self, that he just post answers according to a number system.  Each number is associated with one of Bill's well known diatribes or posting topics.

The topics are:

1) Homosexuality

2) Abortion

3) Cult religions

4) Creationism

5) Triburaptulation

6) Re-posting of anything previously posted

7) Fundy non-answers and diversions

8) Based on a false premise

9) Nothing relevant while belittling the original poster.

10) Links to information not read or not understood

Once I get Bill used to the system, he will be able to just post something along the lines of:

Diatribes 1, 3, 6, 10   or

Answer 8, 7, 9  or

Diatribe 6

Looking forward to saving a lot of time that I'll otherwise never get back.  The only downside I see is that Bill will now be able to make even more posts than before, but at least we can get the gist without even having to think about it, and can concentrate on the very little bit from Bill that is new.

Speaking from my heart....

i have no idea the ages of most on the forum. but i was raised to respect my elders. it doesn't matter if i agree with them or not, just that i show respect to them. Actually, my dad taught me to respect all people, regardless of their treatment of me.

in this particular instance, Mr Bill. i have never met him personally, but have known his brother most of my adult life. So i do know that in the earthly realm, he is my 'elder'. i've read many, many of his articles here, but it's not about that. i'm saying that regardless of his stand on any issue, i respect him because he is my elder, and my brother in Christ. and no, he has no knowledge that i'm writing this.

i can't imagine making fun or disrespecting any one of you. i just wish we all would 'do unto others...', here and otherwise.

Your father did you a disservice imo. I was raised to give respect to people who earn and deserve respect. He will never have my respect because of the things he's posted about me and others. Being an "elder" does not mean a person gets automatic respect. It just means they made it to old age. You have my condolences on "knowing his brother" if that brother is anything like him.

Speaking from my heart.........in case it means anything.

Respect earned is respect given. Bill is an old man, he's given his age as though it's supposed to mean something. Did your Dad tell you if an elder puts a gun to your head, you should show him respect until he blows your brains against the wall?

If you think Bill is a Christian, then you better have someone to explain those scriptures in the Bible about a liar & what a wolf in sheep's clothing is.

Also study what the Bible says about discernment. Here's a scripture to get you started.

1 John Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

BYW, I'm sure he does have knowledge of your post & who you are.

Hi HippieGirl,

Your post gives me a flashback to a time in the 1960s when I was working for Burroughs Corporation in the Washington DC area.  I was going into Melpar, a company in Virginia which did government contracting work.  I was a young Field Engineer in my mid-20s, dressed in a suit and carrying my attache case.  When I approached the security guard at the reception desk, he addressed me as "Sir."

And, while I realize that he was just doing his job -- I still sensed a sincerity in this man.  He was older, with white hair.  I told him, "I should be calling you 'sir' -- not you calling me 'sir.' "  And, I meant it.  He was my elder, a very respectable looking man whom I felt I should address with this respect.

And, HippieGirl, as you said -- it would be nice if, on the Religion Forum, we could dialogue with one another with civility and respect -- even if we disagree on issues.

HippieGirl, I do respect you as a Christian sister.  We may or may not agree, or disagree, on issues -- but, I know that on the essential Christian Beliefs you and I are in accord.

Thank you for taking a stand for Christ, and for other Christian believers.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Crusty,

Thank you for your concern.  I realize that you have not had a chance to travel outside the Shoals area in your lifetime; so, how could you know what other areas of America are like?

My Friend, if you ever do get a chance to visit the Washington DC area -- you will find folks there from all over the world.  That is why it is such an exciting place to live and work.

God willing, some day, before those six men come for you -- I pray you will have a chance to see more of America.  It really is a beautiful country.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I've been to Washington.  I've been to a lot of places Bill.  I'm not originally from Florence.  Once again, you are making false assumptions about me.  You could have saved yourself all the typing and just posted: Replies 8 and 9.

Next thing you know, he'll be telling you that you can't go to Heaven if your wife is not Filipino or Hispanic.

Uh, Oh! I forgot that he's already said you're not going to Heaven. Silly lil ole me!
