Boo Radley

You can find restaurant health ratings online. Also the last time they were inspected.  

Maybe they only saw the movie.

Here is the latest health rating for Boo Radley's. Looks pretty good to me. I have worked in the food service industry and a 95 is always a very good rating.

Colbert County

Rancho Viejo, 3402 Woodward Ave., Muscle Shoals, 81.

Coldwater Cafe, 3810 Hatch Blvd., Sheffield, 94.

Hardee’s, 419 U.S. 43, Tuscumbia, 94.

Outback Steakhouse, 4838 Hatch Blvd., Sheffield, 94.

Rancho Viejo on the other hand looks a little suspect. Not to worry there are at least 200 other Mexican places to choose from in the Shoals.

It should also be pointed out in health ratings that some "points" are worse than others. Many restaurants lose points because of loose or broken lids to dumpsters. This is a health hazard, but not to the diners.

Very true Kate. People would not believe some of the things that get counted off during an inspection. If brooms are not stored with the bristles up that is a point deduction. If a dented can is found on the shelves, that is a point deduction. Many times when restaurants get deliveries they don't have time to inspect each can, but I know at the restaurant I dealt with they discarded dented cans if they pulled one from the shelf. Yet, if a health inspector came in before it was found they got a deduction.

Depends on how often the places are checked too. They could be super clean one visit, and nasty the next time they're checked. Or, they could be nasty, get a "heads up" that the health dept. is coming, and swing into high gear to get it cleaned. Too, just how high are the health dept. standards? What do they let slide?

Depends on who gets paid, have you never seen 'Health Inspector"?

I'd say with the hours changing that the business is not doing too good.

A good health rating doesn’t necessarily mean a restaurant is clean and if boo radley’s had a 100 plus rating, I still would stay away after what I saw. It appears others have seen it  too.

What did you see Jobe?

The last three times I've went down Woodward, last time was last night, Boo Radley's has been closed.

I think they are doing lunch only. May explain why they were not open at night.

I know the owner personally........and it isn't earthmomma. 

I know earthmomma doesn't own boo radleys but she was promoting it like she owned it.

Boo is closed. Everything was being moved out Saturday & yesterday.

I wonder why Jobe doesn't want to tell what he "saw" there. Why the big secret Jobe? Was it Gremlins? Was there a mouse in the kitchen making soup? Or do you just have a grudge against someone at Boo Radleys and are trying to start a rumor?

I'm going to bet its the latter...

Nope, didn’t know anyone at boo radley’s. Just know it wasn’t a clean place. So why did it close since ya’ll know someone there? On 2/16/2013 Semi wrote that pot would never be allowed in boo radley’s and then implied today that pot smoking was happening there. Make up your mind. And again, why did it close?

The weed was being sneaked in & smoked by the gremlin and/or mouse. The owners didn't know.
