I'm kind of suspicious that people who are mentally unstable (because of or during a tough life situation) enough to commit these crimes may see the exposure that some people get through the media and decide to emulate the behavior. Although I'll say that this one sounds like a crime of rage aimed at the people who the killer believes is responsible for hurting them and trying to "hurt them back", which is different from some others who commit campus killings or terrorist acts that blame society but kill people who are not responsible for the original hatred.

I hope this is not crossing the line to post, but I know that one of the kids (daughter) was a junior at Rogers and played for both the JV and Varsity softball teams. My apologies if this is revealing too much detail.

Authorities are searching the home that was set fire in Somerville / Priceville. They think he may have torched the place and then killed himself. We can only hope.

Also, his parents are missing and authorities are trying to locate them as well. They were supposed to testify against him in court yesterday and did not show up.

My prayers go out to the Morgan family and the Garner family. This was such a horrific tragedy.
Other news agencies are saying that he set the house on fire and several of his cars. They are saying that he might be in the house. I would still keep looking because from what I understand one of the cars is still missing...

This is hard on them that go to school with her. I know that those I have talked to are in shock because of things that they are hearing. As you can imagine not a lot of learning going on today.
No, definitely not, but at least they are together and have teachers and counselors there to help them get through this together...

I wouldn't stop looking either -- if he premeditated this like it appears he did I'm sure he might still be alive...also, he seems to be a selfish man so I doubt killing himself would have been his 1st choice for hiself...he played God for the rest of his family but would he be able to kill himself...
No I haven't heard anything about the F150 except now he's in a different vehicle and I don't know where...this was reported on WAFF...he set fire to the first 2 but it didn't say he set fire to the truck...apparently he was still alive up til a bout 12 based on the vehicle stuff...which makes me believe he is not in the house that burned -- otherwise, they wouldn't have had those other fires in the meantime...maybe I have the time line wrong though which is very possible...I guess Im just hoping this man is alive and that he gets to answer for his crime without taking his own life...
this is really making my head hurt thinking about all of this being so closed to home. Greenhill has always been such a great place to live and after moving to petersville for a few years I came back to greenhill and don't ever want to leave again. My kids play ball at rogers (dixie youth) but the sports family well the Rogers School family in general is really close for the most part and when something like this happens it takes its toll on us all. Going to be really sad times on the hill. Please find this guy (alive) so he can suffer for what he has done.
The Athens Courier article stated that the victims included Tammy & Chelsie Garner, then said the other two were "Garner's sister and her 13-year old son". Other articles I've seen say that Garner's sister was going to testify against him at this divorce trial today. The phone at that house is in Tammy's name so obviously it is where she was living. I had been under the assumption that Tammy was with a relative of hers but apparently it was his relative. Interesting.

Makes me wonder this:

What is bad enough to make one's own sister testify against them at a divorce hearing?

Just what was going to come out at the divorce hearing today that he wanted to keep a secret SO BAD that he would rather be remembered as the worst kind of murderer?

Maybe some day this story will be known so the community can get a better grip on what has happened and move on to dealing with the grief without so many questions. I wouldn't be surprised if some things come out soon to make this kind of like the situation one year ago (the timing is spooky) that cost a Lexington student her life at the hands of her father.
