Governor Newsom, speaking for California has swung open the door welcoming women wanting abortions. Maybe he should also foot the bill for their air fare and accommodations, that would show those backward states like Georgia, Alabama, Missouri, etc ... who have the audacity to consider the unborn viable and a life even though they reside in the mother's womb. This is an issue that needs resolution and maybe the Supreme Court is the place to seek that but if they aren't then each state will make their laws and like the current laws on marijuana vary from state to state.
Unlike the current Alabama stance I tend to side more with the Democrats on this one believing that there should be consideration for incest and rape given that technology today enables either stopping a pregnancy the day after conception or discovery of a pregnancy way early in the process. I still do not believe that abortion should be an option for contraception or birth control but rather an intervention in an already horrendous, unthinkable, situation where the life of the mother is at risk and other circumstances exist such as rape or incest. Either way I believe it to be a decision that is not taken lightly by anyone but is within Government's right to protect life. I do also realize that there would occur circumstances that people would not perceive ahead of time but then there are others that aren't so difficult to decide.
I also believe, my own opinion mind you, that industry and corporations should not inject themselves into politics as Disney and Hollywood is attempting to do.
