I am not one to be shocked at the lack of cell phone etiquette most people have. I see them at the movies. They might be set to vibrate but the screen is brighter than the movie. I see the drivers oblivious to using a turn signal or letting people merge. I've sat next to someone at a restaurant who is chatting away.
Last week I saw a new low. I stop for a bit to eat at a Chinese restaurant and the host proceeded to seat me while talking on the phone. They didn't make eye contact with me once.
I thought about it afterwards and I should have made my stand and refused to be sat by someone chatting on a cell phone. Next time I'll be better prepared. I think we should all make a resolution not to be waited on or helped in a retail/service establishment without having the representative's full attention.
