Doesn’t seem like a good idea advertising to all the criminals that Christians don’t lock their doors. Sort of like inviting them in your home to get whatever they want.

“Everybody knows this is a Christian place, not a Muslim place, not a Hindu place",  Matt Kooienga, a Pastor at Harvest Baptist Church said during the meeting. "We don’t have to lock our doors. The reason for that is we’re Christians.”

Although, falsely accused, I do not nor have not believed that Atheist should not post here nor do I believe Christians should be the only ones that have a right being here.   It is a Religion board for all Religions.

As for atheist populating the board in the numbers they do it is interesting to me that if this is something that they intensly dislike why would they want and desire to post as much here unless they have the desire to proselyte for whatever position they advocate or there is some desire to harm those who believe differently by aggrevating them.   I do find it inconsistant when someone says and advocates that atheism is not a religion yet desires to come here because it's a religion board specified for people of religion.  I personally believe atheism IS a religion of it's own because it is a belief structure even if that belief is in nothing or in the case of atheistm an animosity toward God rather than just believing in nothing which I see agnostics more being.  Often though what we see, rather than people explaining their own basis for their own beliefs or lack of them, is debasement of another member or attacking the member rather than dialog and being argumentive.  Yes Christians also are guilty of doing this also.  I do realize that some of our own people, Christians that is, have used the forum and post in order to attack or demean another member who might be of a different religion, faith, belief or otherwise and that is just as wrong.  The act is just as wrong regardless whom it originates from.

The point and thing I challenge with respect to atheist, agnostics, or anyone else on here is what intent iss there?  IF the intent is to cause disruption then I do not believe they should be here.   If the intent is debate, disagreement, or respectful dialog to discuss topics and express personal opinions then that is justification for being here but if the intent is to ridicule and seek to destroy someone elses belief system just because it is in opposition to your own then that is not acting as a good community neighbor and is not, in  my opinion, rationalization for being here.  People can learn as much through conflicts as they do agreements but being here just to aggrevate or disrespect or to avenge someone's own peronal grievance is more a statement about that person than anything else.

Really chuck? Atheists never talk about anything else? You must not be paying attention. Too, speaking of never talking about anything else, how would you know? How much time do you spend around atheists, that you know that is? Do they gather every wed, every sunday morning and night, as well as all the extra 'studies' they hold? Do they stand on street corners 'preaching' atheism? Hmmmm, no, that's the so called christians. Gee, kinda looks like it's them that can't talk about anything else.

Cleveland Brown explains it all.

Cleveland:  Christianity makes sense!  A virgin had God’s baby who then grew up to be murdered by the (clears throat) Romans, so you and I could be forgiven for Eve eating that apple she got from the talking snake.  Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead to tell everyone he was coming back someday to fight the devil.  Then he flew up to his mansion in heaven where he sits in judgment of the gays.  How you can not believe that?!

I do find it inconsistant when someone says and advocates that atheism is not a religion yet desires to come here because it's a religion board specified for people of religion

---------------------------------------------

This is NOT a board specified for people of religion. It is a forum for anyone that wants to do so, to discuss religion.

I post on the politics thread and so do you. I'm not a politician, are you?

You post on the food threads all the time, do you work for or own a restaurant?

You post on the news threads don't you? So do I. Have you been in the news? I haven't. Religion is a huge part of our lives, as big as politics. It would be foolish to ignore it and let so called christians decide what everyone should do, how they should live, how they should think, what they should subject themselves and their children to in schools and public. Again, the forum is to discuss religion, that means in any form you wish to discuss it. It never stipulated that a person had to be a believer to post here. So stop thinking you own the forum and set the rules for it just because of the title. As far as atheism being a religion, it is only you so called christians that want it called that. It doesn't matter one bit to me if you call it a religion, and if it is a religion, it's the best one out there.

-----------------------------------------

Intent? Not your place to question. What do you consider 'disruption'? Not agreeing with you? As to who should be here, does that include christians that post erroneous things about people? How about christians that rewrite history? Should they be here unchallenged? Just what do you consider disruption? And lastly, if a poster upsets you so, or you just aren't interested in their opinions, you can always use block.

--------------------------------------

if the intent is to ridicule and seek to destroy someone elses belief system just because it is in opposition to your own then that is not acting as a good community neighbor and is not, in  my opinion, rationalization for being here.

-----------------------------

Can your belief system be destroyed? Wouldn't you and other so called christians destroy atheism if you could? Again, it is not up to you to 'rationalize' who should or shouldn't post here. As for the fighting that goes on here, from what I see it is 99.99% of the so called christians fighting with each other and running each other down, unless they can find common ground to gang up on someone else.

Gotta love that christian love! And while this is going on, public school systems are asking muslims how they can make the school systems more 'muslim friendly'.

--------------------------

From the article, and spoken by a christian?:

“How is it that a dirtbag can come into a community and cause so much controversy and destruction?” asked Rick Phillips. These carpetbaggers need to be driven from our community.”

Hi gbrk!

I’m curious what you have been falsely accused of & by who? This forum isn’t necessarily for all Religions, it’s a forum to discuss Religion so that would make it for anyone, not just “Religious” people. Atheist discuss Religion because most of them were raised in church or in church when they turned away from it, & they usually know the Bible as well as, if not better than, the Religious people. It's interesting to me to hear some of the comments the Religious come up with.

I’m curious about your comment “As for atheist populating the board in the numbers they do“. Exactly how many Atheist populate this forum?

I don’t think Atheist “intensely dislike” this forum or Christians. The problem is those “Christians” that play the part, that are so judgmental & rude. (the hypocrites are easily to spot) Just to verify, I’m not implying that you are one of those hypocrites.

What point and just how? Never talk about anything except atheism? Really? Show me. Maybe you should read a few of the threads before you make such a wild false claim.

I don't think Chuckie likes you & I. Are you in as much pain as I am?

==================

LOL, hey there. No, no pain.  I'm laughing at the wild false claim, and waiting for him to show me where we only talk about atheism. It's amazing how people will just post lies such as that but think someone will take them seriously about other things.

As for who or when I cannot remember, I don't really hold grudges or have things bother in that way.  The false accusation though I do remember and that was stating that I felt that the forum was only for Christians and I have never made such a comment or statement nor felt that way.   I have, as I did earlier, express my opinion regarding some curiosity about why some might want to be in a place where the topic tends to indicate that the subject matter would be about something they either don't believe in or have some adversity to but that was not saying they don't have a right to be here.   I never said it was a Christian only forum and that accusation was made against me by someone, in the past.

Whether it be Religion, Politics, or Food or Feedback ,whatever the topic my opinion and feeling questioning the intent of someone, based upon their postings, can be something that someone could challenge or question.  As you know very well there have been people on here that seemed to more enjoy prodding people or aggravating people rather than being here for some debate or question or concern of curiosity.

There are some agitators that seem to enjoy jabbing or aggravating other members more than any expression of their own opinion and that also transcends topics.  To those whose participation is such then I just said that their participation is more disingenuous than anything constructive and there is just cause or reason to question why someone would be here then.  One of the things I disagreed most with Bill was his use of those cartoons or pictures to prod and aggravate or polk at various people.  Him being just one example.  In the same post where some actual opinion or statement might be made in the context of the subject would also contain some flagrant or deliberate attempt to stir up someone's emotions or polk at someone.  I would like to say it wasn't deliberate but given the frequency and the choices of cartoons, depending on the person replied to, it was pretty evident that it was something more personal and more deliberate.   Again reason to question the actual intent of the person being there.  Was it actually to defend one's belief or opinion or was it to illicit some form of terse response or was the response or reply itself terse in nature and demeaning toward the individual it was directed to.

And those types of things were not confined to just one person for others would retort to such, over times, either using the forums in a more nefarious or instigating way in attempts to aggregate another member or inflame sensitivities. ... My own opinion mind you..

It's not your place to question why anyone posts anywhere. The forums are open to anyone wanting to comment on the subjects be it religion, food, news stories, politics, or any other misc. subject. The religion forum is not an online 'church' provided free by the TD for a  few of you to post your sermons. The ones that want that should go rent a space in a strip mall, or an empty service station and start their own church.

I pray for the people of Tennessee who have been so downtrodden by the wicked courts from on high that they have been subject to tyrannical judiciary. And I pray that you would save Tennessee from the edicts of Washington DC that would go against the plain wishes of the people of Tennessee, particularly pertaining to the 9th and 10th Amendment.

I pray that you would sanctify this state, that it would be holy and would be a leader among the other states. That they would see that there is a God that lives, that you love the people of Tennessee. That you gave your life that we might be saved from our sins. I pray that you would forgive the many sins of carelessness or lethargy or desperation. The compromises.

Oh lord save Tennessee for Jesus sake, and I pray that your will would be done that you would be our coverage, that we would not be forced into these edicts from Washington DC or any other quarter, but let the people know that our coverage is the same as with Moses and the children of Israel when they went through the wilderness with only the divine providence of almighty God.

So I pray that everywhere there are meetings, and there is considerations and deliberations, that you would give these men and women who have been elected, give them the backbone and the remembrance of the Tennessee Declaration of Rights, Article 1, Section 2 — we are ordered to resist arbitrary power.

Another fine example of conservative Christianity—praying for people to have no healthcare. Watch June Griffin as her voice cracks and she nearly breaks down giving her impassioned prayer below the fold.

What a beautiful Fairy.gif she makes.
