Sno-ee bleach is sold at Big Lots and perhaps elsewhere.  Most bleaches on the market are labeled to show the percentage of the active ingredient, sodium hypochlorite in the product.  I hurriedly scarfed up a bottle of Sno-ee bleach without checking the label and later discovered that it was not labeled to show the percentage of sodium hypochlorite.  I noted that the instructions on the bottle require a larger amount of bleach that is specified for bleaches with the common concentrations of 5 to 6 percent.  So I Googled up the MSDS for Sno-ee and found that it is only 3 percent active ingredient. http://www.jamesaustin.com/PDFS/Sno-ee_3_080211.pdf

At the Big Lots price, this product is no bargain, but if you do buy it, take into account that you will have to use considerably more of it to get the same results you have obtained when using the much more common 5 to 6 percent bleaches. Shame on Sno-ee for not showing the strength of the product on the label.

There are stronger bleach products available, such as Smart Sense, distributed by K-Mart, which is 8.25 percent sodium hypochlorite.    When using these, follow the label instructions so that you will not be either wasting bleach by using more than necessary or possibly damaging fabrics by using a stronger concentration than you realize.

I yam what I yam and that's all I yam--but it is enough!
