I thought I smelled something nasty !! Razzer

The fox, however, is not a dog, and cannot breed with a dog. It also cannot be tamed, and though these animals are quite attractive, they are not considered to be good pets, making both the owner and the pet miserable.

One of the differences between foxes and other canid species is foxes have a strong odor comparable to a skunk. This usually discourages people from wishing to own them, as they smell far worse than even the dirtiest dog or cat, and the odor easily fills a house and is virtually impossible to eliminate. For the fox, the odor is an excellent defense mechanism against larger predators like bears, and large cats. This defense mechanism comes in handy due to the fact that the fox is rather small, few weighing more than about 15 pounds (6.8 kg). The skunky smell also discourages humans from coming too close to their dens.

your barking up the wrong tree mrs. carl. Bluemoon is not TNT, not even close. TNT doesn't have to hide behind a different name, so get your facts straight. Roll Eyes

Pardon me, 2_each, don't get so defensive! I thought TNT had changed to bluemoon, and I didn't think she did it to "hide behind a different name", I saw a post where someone mentioned some people on here having to change their name because of some TD screw up. So I made a mistake, I wasn't trying to be ugly to her.

This is still an accurate description of a blue moon. An extra full moon per year, 13 instead of 12. Two full moons in one calendar month.

I'm not suggesting that anyone change their signature, but a blue moon occurs when there are 13 full moons in a year. That does not happen every year. Every year does have a month with two full moons in it, so that's confusing to some people. The Wiki definition is correct.

..."It doesn't happen every year, but every year does have..." Huhhh???

Psssst, Firenza....the above statment severely subtracts from the "I am an authority on everything" image you spend so much time trying to project.

Let me explain it to you IIII so that even you can understand it if you can't understand Wiki or Firenze:

Yes, there's at least two full moons in one month every year. These years still have just 12 full moons.

Its a year that has 13 full moons. When that happens the second full moon in that month is called a full moon. Get it?
'''Yes, there's at least two full moons in one month every year. These years still have just 12 full moons.

So in a calendar year that has two full moons in one month and still only twelve for the year, then one month would not have a full moon. In a calendar year that has one full moon for 11 months and two full moons in one month, 13 total, that is a blue moon? I guess I must be as dense as IIII, and others who find this still ends up being two full moons in one month (just depends on whether you know its the 12th or the thirteenth since the last one).........

I concur.
But don't forget the part about the second full moon in a month being called a full moon. LOL.

Bottom line is there was no reason for TK to suggest Bluemoon change his/her signature.
And those jumping in with elaborate definitions are playing a childish game of "I'm smarter than you."
Guess what? There isn't going to be a test on it and the person using the most words in their definition doesn't win the "I'm the smartest" award.
Why does his/her signature bother people so much?
A full moon is the second full moon in a month.
Let it go.
Yes, cee, I mistyped. Thank you for noticing that. It's the second full moon in a month with 13 in a year that's called a blue moon. TK is the only one suggesting anyone change a sig. and think that was meant as a joke.

I consider this a place to learn and appreciate when someone adds info to mine or corrects me (if its right).

First, you want Bluemoon1 to change his/her ID. If that’s the ID he/she wants, that’s his/her business.

Hoss gal tells Bluemoon1 to moon’em…..which he/she does with the cute little character doing just that.

Now you’re accusing Bluemoon1 of being Jet boy.

What’s your problem with Bluemoon1?
bluemoon -- you haven't done anything to anyone from what I can tell...I like your avatar and I don't mind your signature...it just gives mes more credibility when I say "every blue moon I get something right" -- with the way I read your sig line -- that means I'm right at least 12 times a year instead of once every 3...so I kind of like it... Big Grin
Bluemoon, you seem to be an okay person.
And if TK's comment was just a joke, then why did the others find it necessary to jump in with their definitions?
One that did it likes to show her "intelligence" by correcting others and posting facts she's dug up online then being very condescending about it. Since she's that way with everyone i guess she wasn't picking on you, she was just being herself...lol.
Your name is cool. I hear Sha-na-na singing everytime I see it Smiler And your sig line is just the condensed version of what the others found necessary to drag out Roll Eyes

If that was directed at me, no, I certainly couldn't remember all the names of the moons off the top of my head--I did remember four counting Blue Moon. I listed them since I thought others might be interested in knowing what the Native Americans called them.

I have known what a Blue Moon was since taking Dr. Harvey's astronomy class many moons ago (sorry--couldn't resist). I remember that it was one of his pet peeves that so few knew what a Blue Moon really was.

And I could say your Kindred ??? lol

Of course I meant no harm to you, but there you go being a smarty britches! Yes, you can say I am Kindred all you want. ESPECIALLY if Kindred and I share the same attitude & opinions, type EXACTLY the same, use the EXACT unusual punctuation, etc. If that were the case, I probably would be Kindred!

I dont care who you are or anyone on here is. Why does it matter anyway ? I'm not looking to come knocking on any doors. Wink

I didn't mention any names. Interesting that you thought it might be aimed at you.
