So you're saying Christian principles had no influence on the establishment of our country?
Why is "In God We Trust" on our money and why does every building in Washington DC have some reference to God? Call it what you may, I call it Religious Principles.
Yes, I'm saying Christian principals had no influence on the establishment of our democracy. Our founding fathers were very careful to not allow any mention of any specific religion in any of our founding documents.
"In got We Trust" was forced into our currency in the late 1950's during a "religious right" war against secularism during that time. Our founding fathers had nothing to do with it.
I had no idea that every building in Washington had "god" written all over them. Can you give me a reference for that statement?

I agree. I am sometimes disappointed in myself for not making a stand but when you are asked to stand before a judge and swear an oath in front of a crowd of others the peer pressure is significant.
Which is the point: This is my country, too. I do not wish to be compelled by my government to bow to an imaginary friend.
