Thanks, Maynard, thanks a whole lot. I just scared my husband half to death as I saw your topic and gasped. He said, "what's wrong"? and I said, "Craig's must be open again"!!! Then, with my mouth watering like a Pavlovian dog, I read your post. Again, thanks a lot.

me too!!! i nearly started dancing in my chair ... i smelled gumbo and gator tail samich... sure wish ole craig could a held on. i hear he's back and forth ... florida califorina alabama . he is selling his art and doing pretty good. craig is a good dude but has his demons . i wish him well.

Yes Craig did have his demons. He was a violent geeter monster.
He cracked a boys head open with a ring sizer when his cafe was on Tuscaloosa Street. I saw it with my own eyes. The guy kept riding his bike passed Craig's place, and Craig got pi$$ed and cracked his head open with a ring sizer. The cops came. One went to the hospital and the other went to jail.
Even with that and all else I know, I would still be the first one in line if he re-opened.
A couple of friends of mine worked for him when he had the place on Cloverdale Rd. They said that Craig kept the recipe for his seasoning mixture a closely guarded secret. He would never let them see the recipe. He would make it partially and then give them a list of a few ingredients to complete the batch.

if you get in touch with him when hes in town he will make you what you want and deliver it.
