Sorry, you said Grocery Store, not Convenience Store.

Considering the hours at most of the conv. stores the ladies working there might think the folks coming in look pretty creepy. Try rechardbettyrey suggestion and look in the mirror. Maybe you are the creepy looking one. jeez grow up.
I've never had any such problems.

Maybe she's depressed because she's surrounded by folks without an ounce of compassion. Bad things can happen, even to witches. Wink If enough bad happens to you, you may lack the will to care for yourself as well.

I still can't believe that no one knows what I'm talking about.

And sorry bout that Pup.

The subject of this thread should be changed to singular rather than plural.

I know exactly who he is talking about at SFM, but I do not think the guy is creepy. Then again, being gay does not make one creepy by default, not in my book. I shop at Cox Cr. SFM and all the cashiers have been fine by me.
See, I don't even get that. I have family members who react the same way.

There are people in my past who have made my skin crawl, but they turned out to be criminally insane or just plain ole criminals.

Seriously, what do they think is going to happen anyway? Cashier going to jump over that counter & declare it their last day as a straight man? I think they flatter themselves. He's probably thinking 'not if you were the last man on earth, buddy'. LOL!

I think I'm feeling too silly to be on here right now...might want to leave before I embarrass myself further. Smiler

No need.

Just walk bowlegged with your chest poked out and a big chew of Red Man in your jaw with just a little dribbling down your chin and he'll not pay you any more unwanted attention....

Plus, the girls here will have something else to talk about. Big Grin

This post was not intended to question anyone's integrity or to bash anyone. It was a simple survey about the atmosphere of a local business.

It was an attempt to see if this was noticed by others or if I was just being hyper-sensitive.

I have known and associated with many sword-fighters in my day, but have never been creeped out to this level.

There is no way in he1! that I am the only red-blooded male that feels this way. I may currently be outnumbered by the upright citizens brigade on this forum, but there's no way I am in the minority in the real world.

Again.... not meant to bash... but definitely to discuss.

LOL. I know exactly what you are talking about. I was creeped out initially by this same "aura" in this particular store you speak of (it can be especially bad late at night, heh). But I go in there all the time anyway (despite outrageous prices), and I don't think all that much of it now. There is no indication that just because a man is gay that he is inherently bad.

Think about it, would you want someone talking about you publicly on the Internet because you decided (or were born) to live your life a certain way that just so happens to not be like most other people? I know I wouldn't. I like my privacy. But such is life in the cyber age; no one has any privacy left.

And you and I are probably that "creepy guy" too and don't even realize it when we stare down some hot chick. I imagine women feel like you and I every day, all day, when men look at them. Ask any attractive woman you know and they will tell you how much they have to put up with from perverted dudes making comments, even physically grabbing them, etc. It happens way too much.

So, no, Maynard, you are not alone in this "feeling" you get at a particular store, but I contend that it's not a big deal. It's more a reflection of our homophobia than it is of any potential real threat. I am sure there are many other gay men around here, some of whom we probably don't notice or suspect.

Now, harassment is a different story, but that is obviously not what we are talking about here. There is no reason to believe this person is a bad guy or out to convert us straight dudes. If you have evidence of this person doing something out if line, then that's different.

I really do feel for any gay person (especially gay men) who have to live in the bible belt, especially in smaller towns such as this where everyone talks. It must be especially bad for those who have to work in public jobs like supermarkets where they encounter most of the city's population on a monthly basis. I guess it's no wonder why so many of them move out of here. Now I understand why I sometimes hear someone say "yeah my brother or my sister is gay but they live out of town." Most of them who grew up here get out as soon as they can.
This is a legitimate discussion. If you two nancies don't like it, too bad.

And I am a jerk. You know why? Because about 50-60% of the posters on here are sheltered fools. And you two seem to fall into the majority. These fools need school, and I am here to teach.

So quit yer cryin and name callin, and just go on if you don't like it.

Was that jerky enough?

PS - I am very good looking. Some would think this is great, but I am here to tell you. It causes problems. My over-all level of attractiveness is really more of a curse than a blessing. And this thread proves that.
