The new Culver's Hamburgers (butterburgers) opened for business on Monday, April 26th, but will not open for dine-in until June 1st, as it is now.  I don't know why the long wait for dine-in forcing people into drive-thru only until June 1st, but I feel it may be due to COVID but most likely more due to restaurants' inability to find sufficient qualified employees to run their businesses.  Located in front of Walmart on Cloverdale Road Culver's gives the Shoals citizens another choice for fast food.  Culver's is a hamburger chain that is more like Freddy's (Madison, AL and soon to be Decatur, AL) and Steak & Shake which calls their burgers "Steak Burgers" but Culver's calls theirs ButterBurgers but the end result is a very tasty burger offering.  They also serve crinkle-cut Fries unlike Freddy's which, like Steak & Shake, serves the extra thin french fries.  Culver's also offers Custard for dessert and their Ice Cream type products and they also have very tasty sundaes, Shakes, and Concrete mixers which is like a blizzard, from Dairy Queen.

Up, until Culvers, I was choosing Wendy's or Five Guy's or Culver's for a Cheese Burger when I got in the mood for Hamburgers and now I'll be adding Culver's to that list.  Don't get me wrong I also like the chargrilled burgers at Cook Out and Burger King (and even Dairy Queen) but having a variety of choices means that when you tire of the one you always have another to choose from.

As for who has the best Hamburgers in the Shoals area that's a really good question and one which I'm not able to answer at this moment.  One reason for that is there are so many other offerings that I haven't tried such as Chili's, Applebee's, the Steakhouses such as Outback, Longhorn, and Texas Roadhouse and then there are other local places such as Staggs grocery to choose from.

Lately, I've taken a liking to Curtis Restaurant on Highway 43 around Greenhill and in front of Roger's High School.  They have a very tasty burger and when they cook it they start it out on the flat grill then finish on the chargrill and that gives it a very good taste and ensures it's well done.  Then there is always Five Guy's and they do a great job but you pay a premium for their burger but then if you go to Chili's or one of the Steakhouses or even Buffalo Wild Wings and choose one of their burgers you will pay around $10 or more for a Hamburger and a little more for a Cheeseburger but most likely will get a thicker burger with more meat and toppings.

Either way, Culver's is a very tasty burger and their crinkle-cut fries are also very good.  They serve Pepsi products and I can't complain about that either especially when Coke has decided to join the political forum in Georgia politics without really thinking through that decision or knowing what they are complaining about.

I haven't posted in a while in any of the Times Daily forums mainly because it seems that anymore I am just posting to myself because of the extreme drop off of users on the forum.  When you look at the participation and who all checks in there is a very small number of users that seem to know it's here or venture in anymore.  Then so often when you post it's in a forum that gets quickly contentious and that's not really why I come and participate.  I prefer not to be too contentious or argumentive but rather treat all with courtesy and often that is not what seems to be on the menu for the forum, depending on what topic you choose.   I've also made several inquiries to the moderators and it seems that no one is at home there either so I really wonder about these forums and just who is listening for the efforts people put into typing in their post, and or, replies.

For all those who have missed me, I thank you but frankly, I wonder anymore just how many there are on here anymore?  In the food forum, I'd venture a guess that maybe that number might be 5 and under, myself included.

Hey GB. Everyone is posting less...I have my ideas about why but that's just me. One idea I have is the left can't stand discussions without hurling personal insults and name calling so they go to forums where they can do that. It's hard not to get drawn in to that when that is all they do...and so I just block them rather than get into a name calling match with them. I just post what I think is interesting and read some of the other posters...and skip the ones just here to be snarky. Maybe if you show up more you can start discussions.

One thing you mentioned is the problem with businesses finding help. The problem there of course the left keeps paying them to stay home now days...and since the work ethic is rapidly declining in America...it's easy for the left to use the Covid excuse to effectively cripple the economy.  Very few workers take pride in what they do now and think they should be paid handsomely just to show up.
