Thursday, Patrick Wojahn, the Democrat Mayor of College Park, Maryland, resigned just one day before being arrested on 56 counts of possession and distribution of child ****ography.

The Prince George’s County police department arrested Wojahn soon after they discovered he was allegedly operating a social media account distributing ****ography.

Before his arrest, Wojahn had friendships with high-profile Democrats such as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

The Washington Blade in 2019 reported, “Pete Buttigieg has mentored Patrick Wojahn over the years.”

Local College Park news outlet the Diamond Back would go further and reported Patrick Wojahn received important advice from Buttigieg and the two even went out for beers once in Riverdale, Maryland.

Per Diamond Back:

When College Park Mayor Patrick Wojahn attended his first United States Conference of Mayors in January 2016, he received advice from another mayor: Pete Buttigieg.

Buttigieg gave advice on how to incorporate a university into city politics, since both cities are college towns. Wojahn also sought advice on how a city with different ideas and neighborhoods could “come together on a common vision and common plan” — a challenge for him when he started as mayor.

Wojahn and Buttigieg have kept in touch over the past few years. When Buttigieg held a July campaign event in Riverdale, Maryland, the two went out for beers.

Besides rubbing elbows with Buttigeg, the disgraced mayor was also invited to the White House alongside his husband. Wojahn was invited to the White House by the Biden admin to celebrate the signing of the Respect for Marriage act.

President Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law on the White House’s South Lawn on Tuesday, and among the many couples who gathered to witness and celebrate the signing was a couple from College Park, Maryland.

“It certainly is a momentous occasion,” said College Park Mayor Patrick Wojahn, who attended the event with his husband, Dave Kolesar.

The Democrat mayor of College Park, Maryland, resigned from the position one day before being arrested for possession and distribution of child ****ography.

Disgraced mayor Patrick Wojahn, 47, was arrested on Thursday after stepping down on Wednesday.

Wojahn is facing a total of 56 charges related to child ****ography.

Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) wrote in a press release, “on February 17, 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified the PGPD that a social media account operating in the county possessed and distributed suspected child ****ography. The image and videos had been uploaded to the social media account in January of 2023. Through various investigative techniques, PGPD investigators discovered the social media account belonged to Wojahn.”

Eleven days later, on February 28, PGPD detectives served a search warrant at Wojahn’s home. They seized multiple cell phones, a hard drive, a tablet, and a computer.

“Wojahn is charged with 40 counts of possession of child exploitative material and 16 counts of distribution of child exploitative material. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections,” the press release continued.

Law enforcement said that there is currently no indication that Wojahn produced any of the child ****ography himself.

“We send a clear message to anyone involved in this type of material that units like this are looking, they’re working every day to make sure that we have a safe county and a safe state,” said Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz during a press conference.

Wojahn’s case remains an open and active investigation and anyone with information is being asked to call detectives at (301) 772-4930.

The department added that “callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), or go online at www.pgcrimesolvers.com, or use the “P3 Tips” mobile app (search “P3 Tips” in the Apple Store or Google Play to download the app onto your mobile device.) Please refer to case number 23-0009239.”

Desperation met stupidity on the corner of bad luck and despair, and the democratic party was born.
