WASHINGTON, D.C.—In his opening statement at Trump's impeachment trial, Rep. Adam Schiff reminded the Senate of their solemn duty and the gravity of just what it is they will be discussing at the trial.

Schiff warned that if Trump is not impeached, the American people may have a chance to tamper with the next election.

"If President Trump is not impeached, the American people might get a say in who is president," Schiff said gravely. "We simply can't allow that to happen. We must diligently defend our electoral process against electoral outcomes we do not like. If that means seizing power through a sham impeachment trial, so be it."

"When the Founders wrote that founding document thing, they never imagined there would be electoral outcomes that Democrats did not agree with."

Democrats also said they even have hard evidence that the 2016 election was compromised by Republicans voting for Trump.

"We know this horrible outcome could happen, because it's already happened once before."

Schiff embodies the entire negative connotations that are associated with crooked politicians and/or crooked lawyers.  I honestly believe that the man's cheese has slid off his cracker (so to say).  I doubt that the citizens of his district will ever vote him out in fact, from what I've heard, he will most likely end up in the Senate one day.  I'm sure that the Republicans have their share of people just like Schiff but if they do I don't know who it could be.  The only thing worse than having to look at his bug eyes as they bulged out is listening to his rants and lies and imaginations.

You can just see or sense the underlying seething anger boiling beneath the surface of this guy as he had to sit quietly, in the Senate chamber, listening to the President's team defend him against their baseless accusations. I can take listening to some of them, even Nadler at times, but Schiff is one that I believe listening to could easily be classified as cruel and unusual punishment.  Forget waterboarding just tape this guy speaking and play it for hours on end forcing people to listen to him.

I  have always believed that along with every politician who runs for office should also have an interpreter on the ticket also. It seems that whenever they say something that gets them in hot water they tell people what they meant was not what they said. So the interpreter would explain how the lie they told or stupid remarks were not what they really said. Of course this only applies to the Democrats because the Republicans are told to quit or resign from office.

Hey Bulldog, there are already those Democratic interpretors there for all the Democrats.  We just call them the main stream liberal media.

Better thanjust one interpretor though they work in unison together selling the same story/version as with Virginia's Governor and eliminating the blackface controversy along with making the sexual attack accusations of the #2 Democrat in they state go away since of they fell then Virginia would be lead by a Republican.

Best of all they work for no cost to the Democrats and even pull double duty interpreting (always negatively) for conservatives, Republicans, and anyone with opposing views to the Democrats.  And they can't be fired unless they have a momentary lapse into truth and actually report something positive with respect to the Republicans
