The lying left is destroying the country!!

Secretary Mayorkas last week denied there was a crisis at the southern border

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday asked DHS staff to volunteer to help deal with what he conceded was an "overwhelming" number of migrants at the border, as the administration scrambles to deal with the escalating crisis.

"Today, I activated the Volunteer Force to support Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as they face a surge in migration along the Southwest Border," Mayorkas said in an email to staff, seen by Fox News.

"You have likely seen the news about the overwhelming numbers of migrants seeking access to this country along the Southwest Border," he said. "President Biden and I are committed to ensuring our Nation has a safe, orderly, and humane immigration system while continuing to balance all of the other critical DHS missions."

Volunteers will be used in a non-law enforcement capacity, with duties including managing property, preparing meals, doing supply runs, prescription medicine runs, housekeeping, and assisting in control rooms.

Mayorkas noted that the force had been used in 2019 during the border crisis in the spring and summer.

"In 2019, over 900 volunteers deployed to support their CBP colleagues during a similar migration surge," Mayorkas said. "Please consider joining the Volunteer Force to again provide needed humanitarian support along the Southwest Border and relief for our CBP colleagues."

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION LEAVES BORDER TOWNS ON EDGE

It is the latest sign that the administration is gearing up for a migrant crisis similar to that the country faced in 2019, which saw more than 140,000 apprehensions a month at its peak. Border numbers for February will be announced later this week and are expected to show a significant increase over January.

The Trump administration put in place a number of protections to deal with the 2019 crisis and end pull factors bringing migrants north. While critics called many of the policies cruel, numbers declined dramatically, and the practice of "catch-and-release," by which migrants were released into the interior, was largely ended.

However, the Biden administration has unraveled many of the Trump-era policies -- including the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) which keep migrants in Mexico for their hearings, and agreements with Northern Triangle countries -- and has been struggling with a dramatic surge in migration in recent weeks, particularly in unaccompanied children (UACs) and families.

That crisis has been exacerbated by the Mexican government’s refusal to take families with children in some cases and by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the administration has started releasing families into the interior, it is opening migrant centers both for families and UACs and is considering using a military base in Virginia to house child migrants. Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has told facilities they can open to 100 percent capacity.

Meanwhile, senior administration officials traveled to the border on Saturday and will brief President Biden this week. Mayorkas’ description of the surge at the border as "overwhelming" comes a week after he was asked if there was a crisis at the border -- and said that he didn’t believe there was. "I think that the -- the answer is no. I think there is a challenge at the border that we are managing, and we have our resources dedicated to managing it," he said.

How about Trump letting 7 kids die in cages on the border and he letting nursing babies be taken from their moms? Tell us about that.  It's awesome that Joe has a 61% approval rating. The best loser Trump had in 4 years was not even 50% so enjoy!

First tell me how Trump let 7 kids die in cages. He did no such thing. There were NO cages btw. Tell me who and when anyone took nursing babies from their mothers. Kids were found to be with men that were not their fathers OR even relatives. They were fed....medicated...clothed and had better living conditions than they had ever had. If dems didn't like it you should have sent them home instead of fighting to keep them here.

IF you believe that Joe has a approval rating that high I can't help you. You are delusional. Again...dems want us to believe a woman that dropped out of the presidential race because of low approval ratings....and a demented old man that was in politics for over 50 years with nothing to show for it except making himself and his family rich through corruption/quid pro quo...who ran three times for office before he was installed...who couldn't pull more than a few people to his rallies...before Covid...and got in the faces of people trying to fight them...suddenly got a record breaking number of votes. Not only did Kamala call Joe Biden a racist and say she believed Reade...among other true things she said about Biden... China Joe couldn't even get Obama's endorsement until the very last minute when his lack of endorsement had become embarrassing to the DNC...then Obama gave his half-hearted endorsement. Odd isn't it...that the president that got the most votes in history...to let you libs tell it...had to have such a military presence at his infrauderation AND still keeps them to protect him! So I would tell you if you believe he has that much approval you enjoy your delusion. I know Biden is only 'in office' because dems  used violence...fraud...intimidation and force to get him there.

Newly uncovered photos from the border protest attended by a tearful Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez show that she was crying over an empty parking lot.

Many have accused the Congresswoman and her supporters of staging a photo-op after the images, taken during a 2018 event outside a migrant “tent city” in Tornillo, Texas, went viral earlier this week.

The photos show an emotional AOC. Her attention appears to be directed towards whatever is on the other side of the fence.

However, a photo from a different angle shows there is nothing there aside from an empty parking lot and some police officers.

This prompted many of her critics to accuse the Congresswoman and her supporters of staging the photos, arguing that the images did not show a spontaneous, authentic reaction.

It's old news about Trump  letting 7 kids die in his cages that he had built in 2017 after he came into office.  It's also old news about the nursing babies he let be taken from their moms.  Both of those stories were proven in the press more than 2 years ago.  Facts are Trump was the most racist pres. since wilson. When he worked for his dad his job was to keep blacks out of their rentals.  Trump also supported killer cops and he said ****s were good people.

smh,,,, obama built the cages,,, Trump received many awards for helping minorities before running for president.   Why do you post false info?  what is your goal?  closing the border isn't racist.  never heard anything of taking nursing babies from their moms so can't comment, besides media has been caught several times.

Trump had the caages built in 2017 and  was caught allowing 7 kids to die in his cages and nursing babies be  taken from their moms.  Trump was the most corrupt pres in history and the most immoral.  When Trump worked for his dad his job was to keep blacks out of their rentals. The only rewards trump got was from pro n a zi  groups.

The Casa Padre shelter is run by Southwest Key, an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit, among the largest shelter providers in the country with 27 facilities in Arizona, California and Texas housing thousands of youth. The Brownsville shelter was state licensed to house 1,200 youth and recently received a variance to house 297 more. On Wednesday, it had 1,469 boys ages 10 to 17.

The former Walmart was clean, divided into dorm rooms with spare cots set up for added children. Boys stood in the hallways wearing T-shirts and basketball shorts, some smiling and saying hello. Reporters touring the facility were not allowed to speak with the children or staff. Boys could be seen playing video games, soccer and basketball. There are classrooms, and officials said children receive six hours of daily instruction.
