Police: Attempted robbery victim fatally shoots toy gun-wielding suspect in Upper Darby

Police say a man fatally shot a pellet gun-wielding suspect during an attempted robbery in Upper Darby.

 

 

Upper Darby police say a man fatally shot a toy gun-wielding attempted robbery suspect.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Marshall Road and Harrison Avenue.
Police say a 68-year-old man was walking in the woods when he was approached by two masked men carrying a stick and a toy gun.
The man then pulled out his own gun and shot one of the suspects.
The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say the 68-year-old man has a license to carry a concealed weapon. 
He was taken to a local hospital after complaining of chest pains.
There is no word on the second suspect.

I'm going to have to call BS on this one - a fast paced walk is about 3 mph.  21 miles each way would be 14 hours per day walking.  When did he sleep?

Crusty, I suspect you posted to the wrong thread,  I believe this was about the man walking to work.  The article said the entire round trip was 21 miles or about 10.5 miles each way.  My hiking pace i 3.9 MPH and I'm at least 10 years older than the man in the article.
