Everybody should see what this cop is up to

there's a lot to be said for "talking to a person" rather than "talking at a person".  my dad always told me "it doesn't cost anything to be nice to people."

Too bad most people never received such advise....and of those that did, too few heeded it.

The following "sentence" describing a true gentleman , was something I learned long ago. I have tried, not always successfully , to live up to this standard. Our world would be a much better place if more people, not just men, strived for this standard.  As John Lennon wrote, "Imagine". 

The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.

Here's another example of an obviously very thick-skinned cop behaving in an extremely professional manner. *Warning* (strong language). This video (Maine state trooper) has been featured on several TV shows.

If I wore hats, it'd be off to this guy.

I doubt whether I could have kept my cool as well as he did in the same situation.
