Just wondering why do you post "Do Not Park Anytime, FIRE LANE" and then allow multiple cars park in the lane all day long and the driver gest out and goes does their shopping at no penalty. Go to Foodland in Sheffield and watch this happen every day and all day long. Some people are just privileged I guess. This has been going on for years and my guess is if tickets were issued over these years it would not be happening today!! Can anyone from Sheffield City answer why this has continued to be allowed? What am I missing except a better parking spot.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer. I did ask SPD once about 'why they didn't patrol nearly enough, and why they didn't work traffic?'. I was informed by the SPD officer that, '...they were busy doing 'other' things'. Being a former LEO and knowing the value of both things that I inquired about, I was NOT happy. WHAT 'other things'?

Same goes for the ones that park in the handicapped spots at Walmart...Publix etc. They don't get ticketed either.

When I was an LEO, BOTH such offenders were ticketed. I even ticketed our Municipal Court judge. 😁 Sheffield's mayor doesn't want offenders ticketed because he thinks it will cost him votes.
