This last Friday, downtown, I went to dine at Rosie's Cantina and while getting to the parking lot was an endeavor in itself at the traffic intersection, by Rosie's parking lot, was somewhat of a celebrity in the Planter's peanut vehicle.  Because I got there at such a late time, actually closing downtime, I wasn't able to see inside the vehicle or talk to the folks that were with it but I was able to squeeze off a few photos of it.

I don't know if they will be back or if this was just a "happen to be here" type thing but I believe it was a nice addition to the routine that has become First Friday, for the downtown area.  It seems over the years that, similar to the Trail of Tears ride, it isn't as huge a deal as it has been in times past.  Maybe it's just me but it seems that First Friday isn't as popular a venue as it has been in the past either and that's a shame because I actually enjoy going down to first Friday and walking around town and viewing the local craft offerings from the locals.  Then again I was late getting there and most of the celebration and First Friday event was over and people were packing up to leave.  I had let November First Friday slip up and pass me by.  I don't know if they have a First Friday in December but I know they shut down for January and February, the winter months.

First Friday is one of those things about Florence and the downtown area that makes it seem like that "small town" atmosphere even though Florence isn't necessarily a "small town" in some people's eyes.   NUTS 4 U, or is that NUTS 4 Y'all since were down south?
