Should They Change The Name To The Chicken News Channel?
Reported by Ellen - January 19, 2007
I saw a new FOX News promo during a break at about 48 minutes into last night’s Hannity & Colmes. It said, “America has problems. The problem is not America.” If that’s the case, then why was so much of what’s happening in America not discussed during the show?

Other than a double segment with Newt Gingrich, the rest of Hannity & Colmes was devoted to sensationalism: The Devlin kidnapping, a sex offender released from jail to go to college, the Yale Choir attacks and the possibility that Hugh Heffner might become a father again. The Heffner segment included lots of alluring gals in revealing outfits. In the middle of it all, there was the fourth discussion in as many nights about 12 year-old Dakota Fanning playing the part of a girl who gets raped. Sean Hannity made the misleading announcement that the film “(features) the violent rape of child actress Dakota Fanning.”

As you know these are not real news stories. I don't even know what most of the stories they covered are about. I know who Hugh Heffner is. These stories are to distract the American people from what's really happening. Bush is escalating the Iraq War, about to attack Iran and start WW3, last month we saw a record number of foreclosures on homes, and it will continue, while the rest of those in deep debt will not be able to go bankrupt but will be locked in debt slavery, Global Warming will soon be irreversible, good paying jobs are sent overseas while we owe 8 trillion dollars or more. Our standard of living continues to decline or stagnate, corporations and the 1% of the elite's profits continue to go up while they have a strangle hold on our lives, from our food, health care, media and government.

And to tell you the truth, even though Fox is ignoring the positive stories for democrats, they didn't really accomplish all that much any way. Just a lot of headlines which will really not do all that much. It's to quiet the people down and let them go back to watching American Idol.

In his speech to the UN Hugo Chavez said to the American people "to read Chomsky's book "Hegemony or Survival" (I think is the title) and stop watching Superman and Batman movies that make you stupid."

And they call him an enemy of America.

Even bin Laden told the American people to read William Blum's book. I forget which one but he has one called "Killing Hope" about US interventions and CIA Coups against countries around the world since the 50's. He has written a number exposing US crimes.

That's why they are trying to control the Net.

Thanks, I had never made the connection. FOX IS IN THE HENHOUSE. (no sexist intent, they don't make roosterhouses)

Sorry, I don't like FOX using the word news as part of their broadcasts. Calling FOX news is Like calling Nuclear weapons Harmless if used according to directions.

The should change the name. Fox in the henhouse news would be reasonable. Little long, but reasonable. Mabe it should be FITHN, as in GONE FITHN. or NUCLEAR FITHN. Or, Mommy, Johnny is Fithn again!!!
