Delicious but PPPRRRRRIIIICCCCEEEYYY!!!! Be careful pumping out the frozen yogurt and loading up with toppings or you will end up with a $12 bowl of goodness!!! You serve yourself and then your cup is weighed at the register (weighed by the OUNCE) and if you get out for less than $5 you have managed a miracle. Their product good though.
My husband and I stopped by there today for the first time. Nice clean and cool on the inside. We were greeted and given a run down of the way it works.. They provide taster cups and allow you to taste all of the flavors before you decide what you want. My husband and I both went with 1/2 Orange sorbet and 1/2 Birthday cake. OMG-it was like eating a dream sickle. We both had plenty and our total was just a little over $6 with tax and all. We will most definently be going back-over and over and over..
There are many things, in life, that people consider "pricy" and while the yogurt shop isn't the least expensive source of ice cream or yogurt it is among the best. If you want inexpensive (a.k.a. cheap) you can go around the corner to the McDonalds and get a soft serve cone or sundae for $1.00.

You can also shop at ALDI instead of Publix (if they were located here) or other stores and find "cheaper" items. The Shoals is full of people that won't spend what the yogurt shop needs to get for their product, in order to make that profit. That's why many people don't care to take a chance on a new business in the Shoals area and bring places like Five Guys or Steak and Shake. People are in business to make a profit and many places require tens of thousands to start up. Just look at the quality equipment the yogurt shop has put in. Look at the work going into the old Mama Blue's or Barnhill's building .. a MAJOR investment of money and I'm sure when they open they will also be pricey. The question is will they be worth it?

Sometimes though the old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. I happen to believe that the Yogurt shop is one of those places that you get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay as much you can limit yourself easily as it's up to the individual customer to serve themselves so each person can govern what they pay.

Last you have to remember that anyone that seeks to open a "quality" shop no matter what they serve has overhead, salaries, and up-front material cost. After trying it I can fault no one for deciding they don't want to pay as much and going to McDonalds but as for me I'll chose quality everytime and there is no other place around, that I know of, that serves as good of yogurt (or ice cream) and gives you the ample choice of toppings that they do. I hope they are there for a long time, hey after all you can't take it with you can you?
An update concerning parking and Montagu's opening..

The new parking lot in the rear of the property should be finished by the 4th of July weekend (weather permitting). If it is, we are planning to open Montagu's shortly after that. We have been cautious and careful so as not to create any more problems for customers and our operations than necessary, and didn't feel that we could honestly get everyone in and out without that lot open. We want everyone that visits to have a good experience.

Thanks to everyone that's stopped by Frostbite and provided comments both positive and the constructive criticism. We've addressed a lot of these issues and made minor changes, and have improved our operation considerably.

Thanks NW Alabama for a great start!! If you stop by and I'm there, say hello.
