BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley told a church crowd just moments into his new administration that those who have not accepted Jesus as their savior are not his brothers and sisters, shocking some critics who questioned Tuesday whether he can be fair to non-Christians.

"Anybody here today who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I'm telling you, you're not my brother and you're not my sister, and I want to be your brother," Bentley said Monday, his inauguration day, according to The Birmingham News.

The Anti-Defamation League on Tuesday called Bentley's remarks shocking.

"His comments are not only offensive, but also raise serious questions as to whether non-Christians can expect to receive equal treatment during his tenure as governor," said Bill Nigut, the ADL's regional director.

Thank you for proving what I wrote in the new discussion titled "Atheists Launch Verbal Attack Against New Alabama Governor" is so very true!

As I have always said -- atheists are my best partners in sharing God's truths.

Thanks, partner!

Well bill if you can post your outrageous nonsense I see no reason I can't post the truth. And I hate to tell you this, but you do more for atheism than I ever could. When you slant and lie like this it only hurts your cause. If your god is so wonderful I'd think that YOU would think he could stand on his own without your lies.

Hi Jennifer

Some of the most successful companies in the world are led by folks who know how to delegate authority. Is so doing, the leader helps his workers to feel that they are a major part of the company -- contributing to its success.

Since our God is so much smarter than any of them -- why shouldn't He also delegate tasks on earth. You see, although He could move mountains with just His own thoughts -- He has chosen to allow we Christian believers to be His hands and feet on the streets.

And, through His omniscience and His love -- we get to do this glorious work for our Leader. It is truly amazing working for the Number One Boss in the whole universe.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Oh really? Which one of you loyal followers are in charge of all the mass murder going on in the world today? The same one that is in charge of starvation or is that a separate division? I already know which post you hold in your god's cabinet. You along with a few others that post on here are on the board of misinformation. Keep up the good work and you might get promoted.

LOL.. Bill definately takes a different approach than me, but he is passionate and I respect that.

I just know that you and every other atheist on this board has the same ability as I do to read the Bible, and to draw the conclusion that all of this around us was a created plan and not a random explosion. Thus, I know ya'll have no desire to be converted, or for that attempt to even be made.

Bill is more stubborn than me in that reguard, to some that's a bad thing to some that's a good thing. But I think all in all he means well with his posts.

No, you know I don't believe we were a created by a god. I've told you that over and over. And yes, I read the bible, a very confusing and self contradicting book. It may have been a bestseller a few thousand years ago but it has no more bearing on my life than Huckleberry Finn or any old book.

When did I say otherwise Jenn? I was simply stating that ya'll have the same ability to draw conclusions that I do. If as an adult who has had access to the Bible you don't believe it, the there is no reason for me to try to convince you otherwise. We all have access to the same info and we all draw different conclusions. You are an adult who believes differently from me. You don't believe in God, and obviously have no desire to. Thus for me to try to talk you into it would be a huge waste of time. That's the only point I was making.

Hi Jennifer,

Sorry, my Friend, but God and Christians cannot take credit for that. That all comes from YOUR LEADER.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I see bill has no answer when ask who is my leader. Another billism that he avoids. Now bill, how do you justify this lie you posted? Since you have no problem doing it I guess that "Thou shalt not lie" thingy in that book you love so much doesn't apply to you. Just goes to show that you don't believe the bible either.

" And, of course, all of the devout Religion Forum atheists jumped on the bandwagon, in effect yelling, "Lynch him! Lynch him!"

It never ceases to amaze me how quick our atheist Friends are to parrot their favorite atheist gurus -- yet, will deny and ignore the true God and His Written Word, the Bible. Let Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, et al, make a declaration against God and Christians - and our atheist Friends are jumping up and down, salivating, and yelling, "Hallelujah, brother! Hallelujah!
