Hi Deep,

Not to be irreverent; but, the closest Christopher Hitchens came to "Grace" was in a book -- a book he obviously did not understand nor accept.  Grace comes from God -- the God whom Hitchens denied.

My Friend, it is not grace and courage when one stands on the edge of the precipice, ready to fall, and continues the attempt to pull others down with him.   If I wanted to drink cyanide; it would not be grace and courage for me to try to convince others to drink the same poison.  I would see this more as -- "If I am going to suffer, I don't want to suffer alone" -- which would be consistent with the atheist way of thinking.

Deep, my Friend, since you have joined the "Church of the You Tube" -- you seldom have much personal wisdom to share with us -- only You Tube links.  Does this mean that the main doctrine of your religion, your church -- is now the dumbing down of all participants?

Personally, I enjoyed our dialogues much more in the past -- when the words came from you instead of from a You Tube link.   Just a thought.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Extra,

That is so true.  Right now I am sure that Hitchens is reacting much like the rich man in Luke 16:19-31:

The rich man said to Abraham, in Luke 16:27-28, "And he said, 'Then I beg you, father (Abraham), that you send him (Lazarus) to my father's house --  for I have five brothers -- in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'"

He is speaking of Hades/Torment -- the place of residence for all non-believers until they stand before Jesus Christ at the Great White Throne Judgment, at the end of the Millennium Kingdom.

Those in this place, in this condition -- have no recourse.  They died denying God and Jesus Christ -- and this set in concrete their choice of hell as their eternal home.  Just like the rich man in this true story in Luke 16 -- those who have gone to Hades/Torment will have no second chance.

During this life, they had many chances to repent and believe.  Yet, in every case they rebelled and continued to walk with the world.   Now, they wait only to stand before Jesus Christ one last time -- and then, eternal hell.

None of us knows if Hitchens repented before passing away.  If he did, we believers will see him in heaven one day.  If he did not, those who die in disbelief will see him in hell one day.   The choice is always yours to make.  But, time runs out when you breathe your last breath in this mortal body.

To all of our non-believing Friends -- isn't that a foolish gamble if you are not 150% sure God does not exist.  But, even if you are 500% sure He does not exist -- you are wrong.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Deep,

We can afford to wait for you to get there and ask him yourself.   As I said, we can wait.  But, I am not sure it is wise for you to wait.  You might want to delve into this a wee bit deeper (no pun intended).

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,
