So, what are a few characteristics of  graciousness?

1. Being gracious is someone who is humble and desires to praise others.

2. Someone who is gracious would never seek out to embarrass another person deliberately.

3. A gracious individual is quick to say ‘thank you’ for even the smallest gesture.

4. Listening to the other person more than talking about yourself is a gracious characteristic.

5. Not “one upping” someone or being spiteful is considered being gracious.

6. A gracious person makes a point of paying attention to others.

7. Consciously being mindful to say what is appropriate is a gracious choice.

8. A gracious person seeks out ways to make others feel comfortable and appreciated.

9. Being gracious means knowing you are not indispensable and respects everyone’s contribution.

10. To be gracious is to recognize the good in everyone and every situation as the first option.

consider this warning Paul gave: "See then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off" (Rom. 11:22)

Thank you, David... This really needed saying... This being the religion forum, few of us (myself included) demonstrate a Christian attitude... To some degree, some more than others, are crude, rude, arrogant, obnoxious, self centered, contempuous of others, childish, and, generally unChristian like... We should all read over (edit) what we are saying and ask ourselves "is this the way I wish others to see me?". If the answer comes back no, then hit the delete button instead of send...

Hi David,

Thank you, my Friend.  Those are good words to heed.  I agree with you 100%!

However, two Friends who disagree on certain things -- CAN agree to disagree without being ungracious.   So, graciousness applies both ways -- to accept one who agrees with you; and to graciously accept the comments of one who, at times, will disagree with you.  Being able to accept both agreement and disagreement and still be Friends -- is the true extent of graciousness.

And, my Friend, most often you do this.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I can just imagine the venom old Billy is spitting out. The man could learn something about graciousness if he would take those 10 things to heart but he won’t. He believes there is no more for him to learn, not when Satan is guiding him.

Jesus warned His disciples against hypocritical judgment, “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs” (Matthew 7:6). A Christian can know who the “dogs” and the “pigs” are when he/she exercises discernment. Jesus warned His disciples to, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:15-16).

I don’t believe that God would find it wrong for a Christian to discern who the “dogs” and “pigs” are & to warn others.

The majority of us, Christian & non-Christian, know there is a False Prophet on this forum. That person is serving, not God, but Satan.

(My speaking of God does not mean I know for a fact He exist. It's only IF He exist)

Chick, my dear Friend,

Your post is a good example of what happens when a person buries themselves in the closet, hides in darkness -- while at the same time, spitting venom into the light.  You can never know if your target is even in the room.

My Friend, for your own sake -- please put aside your extreme bitterness, anger, and hatred, not just toward me, but toward anyone who truly attempts to shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ with you.   Do you hate God so much that you will spew venom toward anyone who mentions Him?

I pray that some day the Holy Spirit will find a small crack in the veneer of your hardened heart and shines the Light of Jesus Christ into that darkness.   With all my heart, I do want to meet you in heaven one day.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Chuck,

My sincere desire is that someone, me, or anyone to whom she will listen -- can lead her to the foot of fhe cross.  Just as Dr. Ergun Caner, who as a teen converted from Islam to Christianity at a small Baptist church, tells us about that church, "They loved me all the way to the cross."

With all my heart, I pray that someone will be able to do that for our Friend, Chick.  Who knows where that could lead, what might happen among her family and friends -- if Chick becomes a believer.   Ergun Caner, after he converted, led his brother to Christianity -- and both are now Dr. Caner -- and both are now presidents of two different Christian colleges.

Some years ago, I read the story of a young girl who had a terminal illness.  Since she was bedridden, she had plenty to time to commune with God during that last year.  Upon her death, they found, under her pillow, a list of ten local men for whom she had been praying, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  After she died, the list was discovered and read.  And, it was common knowledge that all ten men for whom she had been praying -- had become believers within the last year.   God is amazing -- and prayer does work!

I would like to ask all the Christian believers on the Religion Forum to pray for Chick, that she will put her faith in God and become a follower of Jesus Christ.   I really do want to fellowship with her in heaven one day.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I really think you're the one who needs prayers.

I don't know what Billy said to make you say such a thing but Billy has me doing nothing! I can quote the Bible with the best of you but it has nothing to do with our False Prophet. It has to do with the fact that I was raised in a Christian home, & spent many adult years in church as a Christian.

I imagine Billy went into his typical spill about how much I hate him & anyone else that mentions God. If I were to believe the Gospel of Bill, much less believe that he's a Christian, I am still saved & going to Heaven when I die.

I consider many Christians on this forum my friends & have no problem discussing God/Bible with them. What I do have a problem with is people like Bill Gray that pretend to be something they're not. The man is a fool, & what's sad, is people like you that believe the words this evil man post on this forum.

The Bible says a Christian is "Christ-like". I have ask before for someone to prove to me this evil man is "Christ-like" but no one can. Billy is a coward & refuses to answer my claims in the topic Hate/Bitterness because he knows he can't & tell the truth. To answer to the claims I made, he would have to once again lie, which is all he knows to do.

No, I am not a Christian, but I despise (not hate) Bill Gray in that he leads people astray with his lies & that upsets me because I don't want people to be in the place that I am.

i really think there are very few forum readers who believe any of what he says... Most of his posts are so long, few newcomers are apt to read them... Those that are likely to pay attention must surely see  through the inane commentary... Now those who attend church with him, that's another matter. But there is little we can do to influence that crowd...

We can pray for them...

Hi Smokey,

Yes, I do!  Will you please keep me and my family in your prayers.  Smokey, my Friend, if you ever meet anyone who tells you he/she does not need prayers -- pray most fervently for that person!

Thank you for your prayers.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi Crusty,

My Friend, why do you keep wanting to play in a game for which you are not prepared -- and have no skills?  Having a true Bible discussion with you is like allowing a PeeWee quarterback to play for Auburn in the Rose Bowl!   Ain't going to happen -- for the kid would get clobbered; just as you do when you attempt to discuss Biblical issues.

Bless your determined, but confused, little heart!

It seems Crusty has your number billy. (literally)

The advantage still isn't yours even though a liar can make himself out to be

whatever he dreams up. You're still a liar and what you say ain't worth the

paper a Mexican divorce is written on. Your Bible discussions remind me

of a taffy pull, just however you want to twist it.

============================

If you weren't so blind to what you do to the cause of Christianity on this forum you would realize you need prayers more than anyone else. You turn off believers and none believers alike. You should pray for guidance on how to deal with other people.

Hi Smokey and David,

Have you ever considered that, just maybe, the "believers" I turn off -- are those who are following a religion which is contradictory to Christianity?  How many folks, when happily walking on the wrong path -- want to be told that their path is leading them astray?

And, for the non-believers, I have no doubt that they hate what I write.  The path they have chosen and which they "appear" to be enjoying so much -- is at the opposite end of the spectrum from God's Christian faith.  So, you bet they are going to scream.

They love their worldly, secular world -- and Bill Gray tells them the Bible condemns their world.  Whoa!  How can they accept that without throwing very large rocks at their supposed offender?

Smokey, you tell me, "You should pray for guidance on how to deal with other people."

My Friend, I do that multiple times a day.  I pray that God will guide what and where I write; i pray that He will give me the wisdom and knowledge to offer good, solid answers from the Bible; I pray that He will convict me when what I write is not pleasing to Him.

That said, my Friend, I cherish YOUR prayers.   It would be such a blessing if you and David will regularly pray for me and for my family.  I cannot express how much that would mean to me.

But, can I ask?  Have YOU or David EVER prayed for me?

Thank you and God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill
