We tried it last weekend, and let me say that it was great. I got the combo plate, so that I could try a little of everything. Now, it will be hard to choose when I go back, because it was all so good. I am glad they are here, and hope they stay. We definitely need more "non-chain" restaurants on Colbert County side of the river.
Well dangit Mental...I had him write down his hours because I knew y'all would ask. I can't find them right off but am going to try to go from memory. I think he said 11AM 'til 9PM M-TH and 11AM 'til 3:30AM on Fri and Sat, closed on Sunday's "for now", G said. I'm not sure how quick his drive through is because I couldn't resist doing the sit down and telling the girl I wanted "two scoops of 'G'" knowing he'd get a kick out of that and come talk to me for a spell. Of course, he wanted to know how I liked his wings, I chose the Buffalo style, he knew I'd tell him the truth. I told him they tasted very similar to the ones that I make at home and that I had abandoned all but one establishment in the 'Shoals for until now! Also, one won't find themselves biting into his and getting a mouthful of fat versus chicken like so many of the wings at chain restaurants (can you say Sysco?). Mental, if it's helpful I think that you can call in your order ahead of time. I'm sorry I don't have the # because he gave it to me and I misplaced it after all of my good intentions (for us and him), perhaps you could swing by there and look at the menu posted outside and jot it down on your way to work?
I've eaten at G's a few times. Their food is wonderful! Along with their wings you need to try their fried green tomatoes! Very friendly service, too. You don't get in and out of the drive thru as fast as most "fast food rest." but that's because they cook alot of it to order. My food has always been very fresh and hot! Just go by and get their numbers and try them out. You won't be sorry!
I went there for the first time this evening. I opted for the chicken finger snack and asked if they could do them buffalo style. It was a dollar extra, but I did it anyway. The snack was 6 fingers! I expected maybe 3. The honey mustard sauce was very good, and the fries were similar to Jack's - crinkle cut with seasoning salt.

The chicken fingers were a little on the greasy side. Reminded me a lot of the buffalo chicken tenders at Dairy Queen. But they were very tender and really good, and I liked the hot sauce a lot.

I waited maybe 10 minutes after I ordered. Not bad. I'll go back.
I must say G is a very friendly person and wish his business well,i tried the wings and by no means are they awful, but they positively are not good,Zaxby's blows it away,if any of you ever enter a wing eating contest just pray that this place doesnt cater the event,on the menu i noticed pineapple baked beans thought that sounded interesting so next time i'll try that and maybe catfish, best of luck G

Yes, G is very friendly! I must say that I find it a bit odd that your first post is to say something negative about him, however. I'm a "wing eater" the wings were good....IMO Zaxbys doesn't hold a candle not only to 'G' but to many other establishments.

And they were positively GOOD, perhaps your taste needs refined?
