I don't have much faith in the mother at this point. I would have been standing over her at the same time every day watching her take her birth control pill---and she wouldn't have had a live-in boyfriend.

Their mother is the problem. I have seen some archieval footage of the older daughter when she was 12 years old and her mother was teaching her dance moves that would have caused them to close down shows at the North Alabama Fair years ago. I think both sisters reflect the values they were taught.

Why would she wish to keep the child?

For one thing, she could sell pictures of it to the gossip magazines. Then later, if it's a girl, she could exploit it just like her mama exploited her and her sisters. And so the cycle goes...

TSC, you are right, as usual. I'm going to assume this, er, incident took place in California. I thought the age of consent might have been 15, but it is 18. I read on and the age difference disclaimer is three years there, not two. So, if he's 19, he might be just under the limit so to speak.

Maybe they did the deed in Louisiana.

So... I did some digging. That's right ya'll ~ TigerBeat, MySpace, Bop Magazine - all of 'em and this is what I found:

Casey’s birthday is April 29, (and hey hey hey! mine is April 29,too!!! Just in a different decade) 1989, which makes him 18.

Jamie Lynn’s birthday is April 4, 1991, which makes her 16.

They are just under two years apart. So...that means that their little hookup would not be classified as statutory rape in Louisiana, but that it is legally a misdemeanor in California. I doubt the state of CA needs another Spears clogging up their family courts though!
