I knew some good people who attended CoC. I still do. I'm not going to lump everyone who attends CoC together and judge them. The point of my post was to say that I can understand the negative feelings someone may have towards Christianity based on my own experiences.

Religion just didn't make any sense to me once I started actually THINKING about it instead of just blindly following.

That's two questions I ponder daily.

I would say that the greatest difference in the COC and denominations is that they are not charismatic.

Most charismatic practices in denominations are sexually driven and result in experiences that can scar; especially the young.

The religious body of the COC in most other ways are similar to denominations in that they wish the religious wad down the street the worse of luck. Even other COC wads.

One other unique difference in COC and religious experimenters is: they leave it at the door when they depart.

They do not preach tithing allowing the intelligence of the wad to pay the bills.

I also have found that most females that are so vehemently against religion or COC are extremely hot ended and I can see that as reason enough to cause concern for themselves. Some handle it and some keep it bottled up inside to the point they become mentally disoriented.

I think I have just been called a loose woman.

I could be wrong, seeing as how I don't know what "hot ended" means.

I enjoy your post too. I think you are very brave to say that you are confused and seeking. It takes a lot of courage to question the things we have believed to be true our whole lives.

I will try my best to answer any questions you have of me. Just remember I am not a scientist, physicist, preacher, or expert on any subject other than my own life experiences. Even that is questionable sometimes.

I believe in the theory of evolution. So far it makes the most sense and has the most evidence to back it up. People way smarter and more educated than me have spent well over a hundred years shining a very bright light on the subject and have found it to be a valid and probable explaination. I recommend learning all you can on the subject. This is a pretty straight forward and easy to understand place to start. PBS.org

I do not believe that god did it at all. That is a very simple answer to a very complex question. If there were some kind of verifiable evidence to prove the existence of god, then I would gladly believe.

My question is how people believe in god the creator with no proof. Faith is not proof. Why do those that believe it prefer that to scientific evidence? I THINK it is just more comforting to believe in than the cold hard unemotional evidence of science. I can understand that. I just can't live that way myself.

Thats the best I can do Semi. Maybe BJBG or others can give you a better or different answer. I know how hard it is to be where you are right now. The only other advice I would give you is to embrace your curious side and never stop learning.

You are in error to conclude that others should march in place with you in the same ignorance.

The evidence for God does not appear in the physics of Newton or Euclidian mathematics.

After going back and reading my post I realized there was nothing in the context of the post other than truth and I felt the apology was a compromise of the truth.
