junior, using all that electricity to cook meth gets expensive. look on the bright side, when you get caught all your utilities are going to be free.

What a stupid thing to say. If having a high electric bill means your makin meth then we're all guilty. You sound like a troublemaker. My exwife Judy was a troublemaker. I hate a troublemaker.
mine was $118, the highest so far since getting a new 2.5 ton split unit made by lennox 2 years ago. i've been keeping it on 78 day and night, you really can get used to that temperature if you want to. i don't think my attic is insulated well enough to go below 75 or 76 though. put a thermometer up there and it was 153 degrees the other day. really should get that taken care of i guess.

Yep, you'd be amazed how many people don't have a clue how to change a filter, or clean the coils, let alone how to tell if it is running low on gas.

65 bucks? Thats cheap. Seeing as he has the equipment to purchase, the truck to pay for, taxes to pay, freon to buy, the time driving to someones house, the time driving back. 65 bucks is dirt cheap.

I have mine inspected once or twice a year, they clean it when they do it. Last time they found a leak in the freon, wasnt low enough to quit but it would have been eventually. Id rather have it caught during inspection than during the middle of a sunday when the temp is 103 + heat index.

Id get gus to do it but the folks that install it have always done it. Warranty is up next year and I may rethink who keeps it inspected.....

Jeeping, you are absolutly right.
The cost of freon alone has gone sky high, and you may not even be able to get it anymore.
Several years ago I bought a 30# bottle of Freon 22 at Sams and paid about $60. Now , you can't even buy it anymore, although I did find a bottle for $200 a couple of years ago right before it went up.
It'll cost you $65 to get a plummer out to fix a leaky faucet now. You can't expect these people to do it for nothing. If you got a problem , go take a course at school and fix your own. Otherwise, if I have a problem I can't fix myself, I'll call Gus.
