I noticed in the Times Daily today, an advertisement for THE NEW EARTH Festivals. I have a friend who knows Walter & Rhona Rice and have been to the festival. I believe the Shoals is big enough to have this festival right here. Maybe at the Mariott or at the Webster Hotel where is also having a free "Stop Smoking" clinic.
Check out the Times Daily for dates and time.

If any of you do go, just remember to check out those who say they can stop smoking, etc., before you give them any money. Many of them are grifters who have some sort of "store bought" degrees in various arts. There are those who are trained (one a long time poster on here) and those who just in it for the money.

julie, anyone may call themselves a witch. We just all probably have different definitions of the word.

Cerridwen, do you know Romantica Exotica? The reason I ask is that the word "cerridwen" is also a registered trademark for a sub-group of Ellora's Cave. Since RE says she doesn't know what Ellora's Cave is, I was amazed at the similarity.
"Julie", "Fire" is just trying to protect you from all those charlatans out there who just want your money.
How many psychic fairs have you attended, Fire?
Know any psychics, oh I forgot, you know a "trained one". I know several, I don't think either of them have a degree in psychic ability, but they definitely are psychic. Of course, go online there are about a million "Learn to be psychic in 6 weeks" courses or you can buy the book and teach yourself. Wink

Let me be your mother hen , you dont need that crap. Wink

Secret arts and uncanny powers presumably used to accomplish things beyond what is natural-associated with spiritistic, occult powers.

After the Jews returned from exile, some turned to diviners, fortune-tellers, and false gods, perhaps for help during a drought. In reality they invoked wicked spirit forces to assist them, despite Jehovah's having clearly condemned all such practices. (Deuteronomy 18:9-14; Micah 3:6, 11; 5:12; Haggai 1:10, 11; Zechariah 10:1, 2) Those Jews were getting involved with spirit creatures who are in opposition to the true God!

Today some think that the wicked spirits mentioned in the Scriptures are merely symbolic of the concept of evil. However, the Bible reveals that the demons are real and are behind astrology, witchcraft, and some types of magic. (Acts 16:16-18; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6) The dangers of spiritism are equally real. People in many cultures look to shamans, or medicine men who claim mysterious powers, and to sorcerers. Others seek direction from the horoscope or employ tarot cards, divining rods, Ouija boards, or special crystals. Even attempts to communicate with spirits of the dead are quite common. Reportedly, certain statesmen have turned to astrology and spiritistic mediums for help in decision making. All of that is clearly contrary to Micah's advice that we walk with the true God, following his guidance.

Deut. 18:10-12: "There should not be found in you anyone who . . . employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah." (Divination seeks to disclose hidden knowledge or to foretell events, not as a result of research, but by the interpretation of omens or by the help of supernatural powers. Jehovah prohibited such practices among his servants. Why? All these practices are an invitation to communication with or possession by unclean spirits, or demons. Engaging in such things would be gross unfaithfulness toward Jehovah.)
Okay - I forgot how to spell her name, it is Ginny. I have been to her house a couple of times in the room sort of adjacent to the carport. Truthfully, she told me a couple of things that have blew my mind.

I really didn't think she "read" or whatever anymore......But, the couple of times I was there, I did see a Bible in plain view and she often spoke of it.

I really didn't know about all that stuff, Fur. My mom has always said "the Bible speaks against it".

Cerridwen (Kare-id-oo) is a name for the old one, a pre-christian celtic goddess, maiden, and mother of moon and feminity. She brings forth inspiration, intelligence and knowledge. So what exactly is Ellora's Cave?
I am amazed at the similarity, too.

I would really trip out - like probably to the 400 unit. I don't think they start telling all that death stuff anyway, do they?

The ones i've known refrain from giving any type of death warning. They may suggest you have something checked out, pay attention to or be aware of something, but they won't say you'll die if you don't do it.

Ginny used to set up at my mom's shop in North Florence back in the 80's, the beginning of Ginny's business. Sometimes, she would meet us in my car on her lunch break. I believe in her and really love her. She is a real special lady. She read for my brother from Nashville, on the telephone, that is how good she is. The last time I talked to her, she was having some health problems.
Her gift has also been handed down to her son. I don't know if he reads or not.

I was going to point out that I frequently make typos because I barely can type. I see The Bald Guy did it for me - my friends ignore the typos and love me anyway. BTW, what was the stimulus for your barb?

I still want to know if it is a grammatical error or a Freudian slip. You did not answer my question!
Hi all,

How sad that our public school system has totally evicted God -- yet, the University of Alabama will host a Psychic Event.

Now, this, my Friends, is surely a sign of the times. Public schools: Evict God -- but, Invite Satan.

Next, I would not be surprised to hear that Obama and Hillary are the guest speakers.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

The 5 wealthiest authors in the world

Forbes Magazine has released its list of the world’s highest paid authors. In a year when financial returns are a great source of consternation, some writers have still managed to rake in the cash. Top of the list is unsurprisingly JK Rowling who managed to make $300 million over the course of the year. The Harry Potter franchise has generated $4.5 billion dollars since Rowling published the first of the stories dealing with young Harry and his magical exploits in 1998 catapulting the author from an existence as a single mother on welfare to the billionaire status in just ten years.

The rich list:

1.JK Rowling
2.James Patterson
3.Stephen King
4.Tom Clancy
5.Danielle Steele

spell checkers.I sometimes wonder if these types of people were traumatized by a box of Alphabets when they were children. Perhaps they should write a long letter to the person who created Spell Check. After-all most of us know it's not perfect, and neither are people for that matter. It's obvious to me these people have extremely boring lives. I mean really, the last thing on my activity list is seeking out and finding misspelled words. Actually, it wouldn't be on my list at all.
You know some of the best articles I have read have had a few misspelled words, but who cares?

Do you mean "just laying on my back wondering when you would come"?
I just checked this topic, but I do get em's hilarious bon mot.

And Deep, I'm surprised. I guess I've never told you I'm also psychic. I don't see a J, I see an M. Does that mean anything to you?

I'm seeing a lot of connections to the coast, not sure which one, but a lot of water.

None of you works with children, do you? Get back to me on that.

This is sooo strange. I'm feeling psychic too, and I'm not. I'm in a room with a huge window, standing next to, OMG, it's Fire and we are looking at the Tennessee River.
I'm back now, that was weird. Since I'm going to be one of those fakes at the psychic fair, I'll read your cards for free if you show up, Fire? Deal?

BTW, if anyone offers to 'read' me, I'm a taker! You say when and where....Maybe i'll change my name to 'Fire' for just one appt. Can I get a reading in Fire's place?

Hi George,

Please explain how a lady can be a Christian -- and a psychic. The two are very mutually excusive. Oil and water -- they do not mix. Check your Bible.

Maggie, unless I miss my guess, you've just been called me and I was earlier called meanasasnake--that's the forum member, not a general assessment of my personality which I freely admit. Smiler

While I wouldn't bet the farm on it, I assume that Monet and others of her ilk may imagine that everyone has at least 30 different characters performing in our own little Globe Theatre. I really need to start a list, sort of a seven degrees of separation type thing. The one who has been called the most people (and it's probably going to be George) could win a prize. Of course, it would be hard to calculate. Shimara didn't call me Joy for instance, as Monet always does. Decisions, decisions...

LOL I changed to Pink Darth.

Julie, about psychics - Ginny is very intuitive and if you want to know about going on a vacation or going to the dentist, then by all means, go to her. Most people only want to hear surface stuff.

Remember, that no one knows you as well as you do. The answers to your questions can be found within yourself. The Bible says the kingdom of heaven is within. Therefore, you don't need anyone to tell you what's going to happen. You can feel these answers inside yourself if you open your mind and heart and ask. You'll save 30 bucks and get information that's perfect for you!
I went to Ginny a couple of times. The first time she told me that she saw me around family I hadn't seen in a long time and a lot of balloons and cake - like a b'day party she said. Then she said she saw 3 children in my life (I had my 2 at the time.)

She had no way of knowing that the next day we were having a big blow out 10th b'day party for my son @ Chuckie Cheese and that my dad was flying in from Texas that I had not seen in years. That blew my mind.

I told her she was nuts about the 3rd kid. She told me she still believed there was going to be another child in my life that would be mine to raise. I had already made surgical alterations and decisions that I would not EVER have another child.

But, now, I am raising my step daughter............. Wink
thanks JJ, I was torn between that one and one that said:

Someone once said a million monkeys using a million keyboards could reproduce the complete works of William Shakespeare. Thanks to MySpace we now know that to be entirely false.

I'm pretty sure you could replace MySpace with a number of options: Facebook, TDF...LOL

Hi George,

Before I was a Christian; I spent many sessions with psychics -- and I can testify of their spiritual darkness. There is absolutely nothing good about delving into the dark side of the spirit world -- and the only thing that can come from it is bad.

I get a creepy feeling even walking past a psychic store -- knowing that it is full of demonic spirits.

You can play that spiritual Russian Roulette if you like -- but, there is no way anyone would ever get me within speaking distance of a psychic.

Yet, on the positive side, the dark demons of the psychic world cannot affect a Christian, for we cannot be posssessed by them. On the other hand, why would a Christian want to be involved with that world of dark spirits -- when God tells us to have nothing to do with them?

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

And the prophets meditated and prayed to get their message from the divine. That is what we call pychics today or another name is oracles from the Greek. These visions are there for all to tap into and to get our own answers, if we want it. Or we can run blind and let others lead us. Our kingdom is within ourselves instead of a fictitious God that you apparently believe in. We are all One, and the same, that we are all interconnected in the body of humanity.
Inner Presence, Great and Mighty,
Inner Light that shines divinely,
Inner Life that lives completely.
Inner Power that holds securely,
Inner Eye, that see so clearly.
Inner Ear, that hears the divine always.
