It is nice to see the end of the bush administration on the horizon - no question. It is also unrealistic to think for one minute that the hounds nipping at his heels will stop until the White House is free of his odor. He lost the popular vote in 2000 and only won by 1% in 04. It should be of no shock that he has never been able to maintain an approval rating above 44% and has many detractors. He behaved like he had a mandate, he has done a lousy job - what do you expect? Life is hard, politics is a tough job - especially when you are unable to make friends out of enemies. There are many people who will only be satisfied when someone else is sitting in the oval office and bush is defending his "legacy" in retirement.
